That's a good point, the GAB SSR will be a learing cerve if I do go that way with so much adjustment available rebound/compression etc

Quick pic of what I've spent all day doing, masked up and covered everything in newspaper, cleaned everything down with thinners, first coat of primer is on, one more tomorrow and then there will be a burst of colour. It's almost finished!!!!

Cheers Carl! Yeah once it's done it should spice it up a bit, but mainly it will break up all the grey! Grey outside, grey wheels, grey inside, grey everything! Lol

Lisa is a nut. She has a rubber butt. Everytime she turns around it goes putt putt.

                          Update

Hi everyone!!! First off sorry for the long waits between updates, a lot has been going on lately, have barely had time to scratch myself! lol

                          Current progress on the car:

Have been working hard lately to try and get as much done as possible before H Nationals and hopefully there will be enough time to get everything done. The cage is complete and the front floor of the car got a coat of grey paint and clear coat to make it look a bit cleaner. The car is still very dusty and dirty so there will be some pics once its had a clean and tidy.

Am mainly looking at reliability, weight saving and a couple of suspension bits atm. Have installed a Hybrid racing baffled sump insert, an oil cooler and am currently hooking up the GPX lap timer to read RPM, oil temp, oil pressure and water temp. Also putting in a new radiator (most likely mishimoto) plus a mugen fan switch and thermostat and samco radiator hoses. Also purchased a new drivers seat (will have pics once its installed), some hardrace roll centre adjusters, PCI spherical LCA bushings, Project Mu steel racing nuts (wont deteriorate as much as alloy nuts) and some aluminum hub rings as the plastic ones that were being used had melted out of shape due to track temps lol

Here's what our garage currently looks like, such a mess, there is stuff everywhere lol:

You can also see the subframe is out in that pic with the jack supporting the motor just in case. Here's a pic with the sump off:

And the Hybrid Racing baffle plate installed:

While the subframe was out i removed the air con compressor along with all the other air con components in the engine bay and some of them in the cabin as well:

Obviously had to put a shorter axillary belt in after taking the compressor out, haven't started the car yet since installing the new belt but the tension feels normal so it will hopefully be fine; The size i used was a 7PK1340 for anyone looking at doing the same thing.

Picture of the oil cooler mounted up

and the sandwich plate installed, this is the only way i could get it to fit, had it in mind that it would run straight down but the drive shaft is in the way so i put it on horizontally instead

Also for more weight saving i decided to remove the sunroof, looking back i really should have done this before completing the cage because I had to cut it to pieces to take it out lol here are a couple of snaps of a block off plate i'm making, it is made out of aluminum composite material which i also used for the new splitter, very light and rigid but can be persuaded quite easily into other shapes with some heat and bending due to the composite centre, the block off plate will be carbon wrapped once its done and then sealed with grey silicon around the edge.

Will also be replacing all fluids and bleeding the brakes before the next outing and will need a new alignment as well so lots to do!!!

Also had a new edition to the family a couple of weeks back, was a long drive back from Sydney but worth it in the end, these are a fantastic car to drive, and yet again i have confused a majority of the population of Bendigo as barely anyone knows what it is LOL! :P it's just going to be hard to keep it stock!

I think I may have skipped a couple of things but that's the majority of whats gone on lately. Really looking forward to H Nationals, just hope i can get the car ready in time!!!

Apologies if there are mistakes in this post and/or if it isn't very coherent but i am very tired from working all day and then coming home and working on the car till late!

                          Cheers guys

                          Ryan
