Its been a pretty quite month or so.
Kinda feel like building another K24 just for something to do LOL
Made the trip to Sydney with Luke for the clubITR end of year BBQ. great day in the sun and catching up with everyone.
I got the car blue slipped for the K24.
The car has done around 1000kms on the motor now. So I changed the spark plugs.
Drove down to JDMyard with Luke again for the eoym. Was good to catch up once again with all the clubitr guys.
That's all for now, just waiting till my wedding in April and then its time to hit the track again.

So a few updates.
Picked up a OMP wheel after Christmas and married it to a EK boss kit.
Feels pretty good

Decided to take out the air bags as well.
Passenger side was easy enough to removed.... With a bit of cutting


Also replaced some more gaskets



Looking at the past 5 years and how much this car has developed.


Also been busy with a few thing late at night.... But that will be another update.

yep 350mm and flat faced, Feels real light and easy to grip. Just gotta figure out how to wire the horn LOL

Wiring the horn is death. Just don't do it at night so you don't wake everyone up. I've got an SRS light permanently on coz my SRS delete came loose. Ceebs taking steering wheel off to fix it.

so there is a lot of talk about gearing about atm.
Butter's K24 DC5R 6 speed with 5.1FD
Alex, Shak and Obed K20 6 speed with 5.1FD and TSX 6th

So i drove Alex's DC5S on Saturday while i was in Sydney (good to catch up again) and saw how good the acceleration was and the improvement with the 5.1FD.
However I am yet to see Butters gearing with the k24, He did say 1st and 2nd are next to useless.
So i have been doing a lot of thinking and reading over the past month about gearing and trying to decide on what will benefit what i am after, plus cost effective.
I tried to describe the acceleration and torque to Alex and Nathan on Saturday. So i thought i'd show him. Driving the Xtrail down to Sydney to pick up some parts I didnt have the teg there to demonstrate.

5 speed gearbox with 4.3FD.
1st gear wheel spin and not 100% throttle
2nd gear wheel spin and 100%.

Then 2nd gear 15km/h pull to 110km/h (redline)

I think the ITR 6 speed stock is best for you. I think the 5.1FD would be too short for the 2.4L redline. Just install a TSX 6th since you do plenty of highwya klm anyways.

Just had a quick look at the gear ratio comparisons for different boxes HERE and if you compare the DC5R box versus the k20a3 5 speed. The final drive/all gear ratios are shorter than your 5 speed. I think the 5.1 will drastically make all the gears too short which has been asid by Jason/Butter all along
