Shaun's Arctic Blue DC5R - The build after a build.

    Hi Guys.

My names Shaun and I'm from Sydney.

So after years of driving around in a cheap car (my beloved KE) I finally got some money together and bought myself something to be proud of.

I had my heart set on a Type R (wasn't picky over DC2 or DC5) After months of hunting and so much lurking of the cars page here and on JDMST, I came across the perfect DC5R. Clean paint, low k's, proper mods (and lots of them) and a reasonable price. Adwin, or white_r obviously didn't want to sell his car, but was forced into it for personal reasons. The EOI ad went up on the Thursday night and I flew to Melbourne that Sunday to look at it and made a deal then and there. 2 weeks later I was driving it home. The car was faultless all the way home and has been since. It was incredibly obvious how much Adwin cared about this car, and it just ooozed time and love and as I drove it out his driveway I thought he might shed a tear.

I'll be looking to make some aesthetic mods in the short term and in the long term will be looking at getting moar power (ECU and a tune)

                            SMALL UPDATE

I really decided to splash out a few weeks back and ordered a tyre paint pen. The price was a whopping $1.60 inc. postage. Expensive I know. It showed up yesterday!!

Says TOYO, so you know its legit

When I bought the car the writing on the tyres had been painted, but obviously a while ago, and it was starting to fade/smudge. I really liked the look of it, so I figured for $1.60 and half an hour of my time it would be worth re-doing it. Please excuse my terrible quality photos.

                            BEFORE

                            AFTER

The difference is really noticable, and that was after only one coat. I plan on doing a few more just to make it really stand out.

                            BONUS PHOTO

                            I love my spoons !

                              nice job man

normally i repaint them once in like 3-4 weeks (the front ones faded quicker), just remember to not put tyre shine straight away or too much (i made a mistake and the paint smudged after driving around)

I love my spoon too hahahaha....
