I had a go at cutting some of the bushes out of the control arms last night. Not much success, so I think I'll just burn them out then hack the sleeves out. I did buy a spare bonnet though, I didn't want to cut up the good condition one off the car for engine clearance so this already slightly hacked one will be butchered instead. It was cheap enough that I couldn't pass it up given that these bonnets are getting pretty uncommon these days:
Eventual plan is to use this bonnet as a base to make a plug to take a mould from to produce a bonnet that will fit over the motor.

Hey Tom,
Can you please confirm the part number you picked up for this unit as I want to confirm I am getting the correct item and to ensure it will fit RHD DC5.
Thanks in advance!

Part Number is : 46920 S5A G06
I can post up photos of it later tonight if you want to see the difference between the DC5 one and the Civic SI CMC.

So Alex, as Jason says the MC must be different for LHD and RHD so don't get the part number I ordered. I can also post up a side by side picture of the two master cylinders if that would help.

Been a while, not much happening on the CR-X. The weather has been poor and I've been poor and lazy. I did get some new bits in the mail over the last few weeks; a pair of front shocks (rears are out of stock in the US at the moment) and some upper mounts.
The shocks are Koni 8041 Race, the same bodies as the normal Koni yellow sports but with more aggressive valving to suit higher spring rates. Rebound adjustable only and I guess they just have more rebound than the normal sports, though I am not sure exactly what is different in the valving. They are recommended for rates up to around the 1000lb/in mark so they were the obvious choice for me since I wanted to run a fairly high spring rate but have limited budget. The top mounts are made by Proparts USA and have a nice looking US made spherical in them and they're quite low profile so I shouldn't lose much bump travel using them. I just need some upper spring seats to complete the front suspension now.
I also modified my K20 oil pump to fit over the main caps in the K24A3, starting with a dremel I soon got sick of that and finished it off with a 120 grit flapper wheel on a 100mm grinder. Fairly smooth result considering:
