What are you planning on doing to the K24!!

Super keen to find out!! Are you going with a K20 oil pump and baffled sump? If you go with a K20 sump, you'll need to get longer bolts... just sayin'

Thanks boss! Wheels were not really a choice, if you want a cheap, light, wide 15" 4x100 wheel then they are the only option for the thinking man.

Thanks for the heads up mate, I've been there before but had forgotten to add them to my list .

K24 setup will be pretty simple, I'm not looking for crazy horsepower, just good reliability and a few more horsepowers than the old B16A. Here's the rundown:

        Stock K24A3 plus:
        K20A2 intake cam gear
        K20A2 oil pump, guides etc.
K20A2 sump (have this left over from the DC5)
        Clockwise motion baffle
        RBC intake manifold
K20A2 throttle body with Karcepts adapter
No AC or PS with Karcepts alternator relocation
        KPro

Oh and I'll be using an 02-04 Type R gearbox.

Seems like this car may be more fun to drive than your Integra Tom?

I've also just bought myself the Clockwise motion baffle also.

Excited to read a few words from you regarding how the k24 is in the EF!

            What a build.
should have put the K24 in the Teg and the K20 in the CRX

Sounds like a good build. Should net you some very decent numbers across the board. If you need a hand with anything let me know. Once I'm down in Melb I'll be happy to come give you a hand.

Definitely more fun to drive, the power of the K24, the short wheelbase of the CR-X along with my chosen suspension setup should make it an interesting drive . Be sure to report back on your experiences with the Clockwise Motion part.

Thanks boss . The Integra was as fast as I ever wanted it to go, it's time to move on.

Thanks! I live in Essendon, but the car is elsewhere at the ghetto fab headquarters.

Yep, should be adequate power in a nice light CR-X. Thanks for the offer of help!

I got a little more done over the weekend. I removed the auto gearbox from the motor and got it up on a stand and started stripping the ancillaries I don't need. More updates to follow soon.

                            Yeah it does.

                            Subframes and crossmembers

I had a few spare hours after work today so I continued stripping the CR-X ready for a dummy fit of the motor once my engine mounts turn up. I pulled the bumper off, after scratching my head for a little bit before I found the bolts hidden behind the indicators. With the bumper free I pulled out the AC condenser and threw it in the garbage. It won't be returning to the car.

I then pulled the front crossmember out. A lot of guys go for fancy traction bars on K swapped EFs for sump clearance but I will retain the original item. I have it on good authority that the stock part will fit with a bit of massaging with a big hammer, something I specialise in.

I also pulled the subframe out along with the steering rack. It turns out that the ED9 and EF8 subframes (Pictured below, EF8 on the bottom) are nearly the same, except for the holes for the rear engine mount. I have to test fit to be sure but I think I will use an ED9 subframe with the EF8 rack since it makes the rear K mount a bolt in affair and I'm lazy.

With these small tasks done I called it a night and closed shop.

So I haven't done much on the CR-X over the last fortnight, been busy up at Winton and working to sort out the finances. Today my engine mounts turned up in the post though, and I ordered a header as well, it's made to order so I don't expect it any time soon.

I also picked up a couple of other spare bits and pieces so I'll post some photos at some stage.
