So you just sent in dimensions then. What size wing did you get?
Oh ok I got the impression they didn't make anything for the DC5. I don't think they make the GTC300 for the DC5 though do they? I bought it from BYP and the first thing Bensons supplier asked for we're the dimensions of my boot so I assumed they didn't make it specifically for the DC5, I think it must be the GTC200 that they do.

Ah, right on, the 300 looks sick on your car! I actually prefer it to the 200 as far as the way the brackets sit. Looking forward to more updates.

Thanks, I'm happy with how it looks too. I just hope it settles the rear end down enough, after all that was the main reason for buying it! Haha

Well it was an interesting day at Winton yesterday. We got to the track a little later than expected and it was packed, there ended up being 128 cars all up which was just way too many. There were too many cars in each group which made the track congested at times and most people only got in 3 dry sessions as it started to rain later on. Because I got there late I only got in 2 dry sessions and a couple of laps in the wet before calling it a day. There was a forecast for showers during the day but luckily they stayed away for quite a long time, however it was very humid/muggy with a lot of moisture in the air which i wouldn't have thought would have helped us much.

Anyway onto the car. Before heading out onto the track I went for a little drive through the pit area just to get a feel for the car again, first impression was the cage has stiffened the car up heaps, you can feel the suspension working harder over the bumps. Last time I ran front and rear pressures of 32psi and after having a chat to a few people I was worried they were too high with the addition of the cage. Once I got onto the track the tyres heated up a lot quicker which was good but I was getting a lot of under steer on a couple of corners, mid corner and through the exit there was very little grip. Everywhere else felt normal or faster, the sweeper especially as the car sits very level through there now and I could carry a lot more speed through it, I think the new aero helped a lot there as well as the cage. But it was the exiting right hander out of the chicane, the left hander at the end of Shannon's straight and also the right hander coming onto the main straight that I was getting the under steer. So for the second session I dropped the front pressures to 36psi hot, they were at 38psi hot in the first session. The rears stayed at about 36psi hot so they were left as they were. The car felt heaps better after that, a lot more grip, still had under steer coming out of the chicane but not as much and everywhere else felt a lot faster. In the first session I was surprised to hear I dropped my PB to a 1:42.6 which I was really happy with since the car didn't feel all that great at times. After the second session I was sure I had gone faster but was at least half a second a lap slower, this confused me at the time but after re watching some footage I think I was getting tired and loosing concentration a bit, my lines were a bit messy and I was braking too early. I only had a few hours sleep the night before lol But all in all it was a successful day and very enjoyable as usual. Still learning heaps every time so hopefully that will help me to get the car set up properly. Can't wait to get back out there!

Don't think I'll be looking at any performance mods soon as I need to get used to the car as it is now. I do however want to put in a baffled sump and oil cooler purely for extra reliability. Also will be removing a few items to shed some extra weight and have also been looking at a GPX Pro lap timer (or similar) so I can monitor lap times on the track and also keep and eye on temperatures and pressures on the fly.

Anyway thats about it for now, sorry I don't have any new pics to add to this post, the camera was forgotten yesterday. Thanks for reading guys!

            Cheers

            Ryan

Thanks Tim! Was good to catch up again on Tuesday, looking forward to tearing it up out there along side your EP3 once you get it right for the track again!

Cheers Alex! Thanks again for sorting me out with the ABS lines, I replace the damaged line and it's fixed the issue

Thanks Grosso! Hopefully see you over at Winton soon

Edit: forgot to add, I've had a couple of people enquire about the splitter I've made, I'll post up a mini DIY on how I went about it and what materials i used to hopefully help a few fellow DC5 owners out when they decide to make one
