so after hitting the gym on the way back i decided to stop by officeworks to pick up an ultra fine red sharpie. got home and decided to touch up my red stitching on my ITR steering wheel.

not sure if its clear enough but you can see the bottom row is darker than the top

comparison between touched up and faded stitching

the verdict: compared to my immac rear seats the stitches on the wheel are a more darker red however it looks heaps better and deffs beats that pink fade that it was previously.

Ohh also picked this up today for cheap!

gonna start pulling this thing apart and parting it out keeping the front for myself

Nice man! Been contemplating picking up one of the many JDM Front VTI-R's available right now and using it as a donor car. In my head it seems to work out cheaper, especially if I can already pick one up in black

yeh dude nose cuts are too hard to find now days, plus it was a complete car with a lot of flaws obviously but the front seems straight and the price was irresistible plus the guy told me to pinch what i needed from his other wreck too!

Thanks mate, thinking of going quick release rear bar next :P

            another update:
managed to get my interior together. decided to retrim the roof lining and the pillars as they were all pretty ugly and disgusting. After a good clean they were pretty nice but my mind was fixed on retrimming anyways.

            end results:

couldnt get the sunroof slider off so painted it in black vinyl paint.

the rear window plastics were the biggest pain to do. each piece took me about 4 hours and had to restart once for each side. due to the irregular shape i would always ended up having a lot of fabric left over in the wrong places so had to restart, stick, peel and repeat.

In the end there were a few wrinkles and a few spots over and on the roof lining there are spots where the adhesive doesnt bond too well however theyre not very noticeable and for a first time attempt i think there came out okay.

Well seeing as my last update was at then end of last year i thought i should give this a little bump!

As of current this is how the car sits!

Yes the fender is still red..

Since my last update Ive managed to pick up some Buddyclub N+ for cheap, I also manage to grab hold of a full AUDM ITR 5 stud conversion up in Sydney! Had a few troubles with getting them shipped here and so when my mate decided to buy a K-Swap Dc2R up in syd we decided to head up and pick up the 5 lug while there too! Was fairly impressed that the dc2r was effortlessly pull with a whole 5 stud in the boot and just applying the throttle at cruising RPMs.

I've also manage to get hold of some RPF1s recently and managed to grab hold of some JDM HID Headlights and a jdm dc2r rear boot for literally close to nothing

needs a clean but nonetheless they were in very good condition

Besides a few deep scratches the lens were mint and for what i paid im really not complaining!

Looks soo much cleaner without the wiper

Next up for the car im hoping to get the jdm front put on the car and go for a respray hopefully before i have to head back to uni but if its the front end alone im happy!
Having finished my last exam the excitement to have the free time got the better of me..

Decided to colour code the Dc2r reo and the red support T piece as it was in pretty poor condition prior and it would have been a lot more work to paint the rad support after the conversion had been done!

Thanks Felix! I needed a new rear hatch and this was actually cheaper than all the vtir hatches i was offered by around half the price

So initially today i was hoping to grab some equipement off my mate to play around with a welder i just picked up. Well one thing let do another and before i knew it, i began stripping down the whole front end..

                              Aaaaaaaaaand then this happened

The previous repair on the car really showed its true colours when you see something like this

that right, the previous owners ran in some screws to hold the support in place instead of properly welding it up. On the bright side however it makes removing the spot welds whole lot easier.

test fitting the parts and playing with it trying to line everything up.. roughly

The front end still needs a bit of aligning but for the most part everything seems to fit okay so far no issues

Hoping to get everything finalised tomorrow and get everything welded in.

My mate who came by to help me also donated me a jdm washer bottle so i can fit the OEM HID headlights too

Precision fitting- Well done! Them gaps along the fenders and bonnet look pretty spot on. I've seen some jdm front conversions that look horrible and don't even line up anything close to that.
