    Trying my best Quang!

A little slow the last week or 2 due to a bruised vein.

Put on the freshly machined Jdm k20a flywheel and the comp clutch stage 4 sprung. Mixed reviews with the clutch, too late to change now because i bought it 2 years ago lols.

Flywheel bolts torqued to 90 ft/lbs
Pressure plate bolts torqued to 20 ft/lbs

Also applied thread lock to the bolts.

My buddy Sang was kind enough to donate me a set of dc2r side skirts so that I can fit my Top1 side splitter. Straight forward with the drilling and also used a little thread lock on all the bolts for safe measures.

Guess what?! The bay is painted! So we called all the boys over to come help Michael drop in the engine as the poor guy was lacking sleep but had the motivation! I was feeling lazy so all I did was sit back and take pics for Michael as he was putting in the engine. Please excuse some of the photos, phone camera likes to exaggerate some colours.

Warning, SHIT LOAD OF PICS. As this is probably the moment everyone has been waiting for!

The sexy sexy bay to start with!

All the boys came over just before the sun went down, as above the fly/clutch was put in by michael. So the gearbox had to be mated with the block.

When we started the sun was setting, so we pulled out the flood lights and got to work.

Michael bolting down the rear mount

Couldn't press one of the bushes in properly for the mounts, so spent a few minutes trying to hammer it in

      Happy snap

Mike making a new hole for the drivers side bracket and securing it

Boys chucking on the rear bracket

      Mike chucking on the midshaft

Few snaps getting the crane assembled and getting the engine strapped

      Engine goes up!

        Continuing on...

Getting the drivers mount bolt in. Pretty easy

But the passenger side was a kunt to put in, troubles lining up. Guess this happens with most kswaps :P

        Got half of it in

Thanh/neut had to jump in and lift the gearbox side up and wiggle it around to get the holes lined up

Got it threaded in! And slotted in the bolt for the rear mount too.

And then we realised something... There is no clearance for the dump pipe. Runs straight into the rear mount. Will get this fixed asap. The screamer pipe also fouls on the underside of the subframe. Saddd.

But guess what?! The engine is finally in!!!! After 2.5 years of the car being engineless and off road. It finally has a new heart in it. And its fkn sexy!!

Then we decided to dummy fit the raychem ;]

And thats it for now guys!!!! Before and after of the bay!

cri 5eva haha. Hows that dc5r going?

Another night another small update. I finish work at 10pm so I can usually squeeze in an hour or 2 if I can be bothered with the weather.

Put on the 3 point Edelbrock tower brace brackets and really loving the design. It may not be a fully rigid design but having something is better than nothing, well.. in some cases anyways.

Forgot the mention I had the brake booster turned upside down, this puts the vacuum port on the bottom left rather than the top right. What does that mean? The vacuum line is more hidden = free mod to clean up the bay further hehe.

The wiper motor line is really giving me the shits, will drill a hole under the wiper cowl and feed it through the cabin when the dash is off.

Cluth line is fed through here, cleanest spot I can think of? feel free to give me some opinions.

Forgot the connect the bonnet latch cable, always forgetting the smaller things that count.

Test fitted a section of the intercooler piping. Both the hot and cold side will be going underneath the same chassis rail.

That precision and tial combo though.

I got another rocker cover sand blasted and will be welding a single 16an fitting for the catch can, will also be shaving off the factory breather port.

Getting this coated metallic gloss black, same colour as my engine mount brackets and tower brace. Keeping it nice and simple.

Awesome progress man! You must be more motivated now since the engine is in aye?!

                        My car still the same!

Quite interested in your turbo there though.. hehe

Few things to add to the car

                          * New Oem clutch slave
                          * New Oem bonnet rod clip
                          * K-tuned brake booster line kit
                          * Buddy Club shift knob

Bonnet rod clip, known to break with wear and tear.

Oem clutch slave on and clutch line connected. I couldn't re route the clutch line under the motor due to the length, too many hot parts to avoid in the rear which left no room to route the clutch line under.

Shifter cables, brackets and pins installed. Not happy about the over spray on the shifter cable from the previous spray job =[

I plan to spray the shifter mechanism satin black, looks tacky silver imo. Anyone know how to remove the shifter bushings? I have the K-tuned billet ones to be installed.

Will be welding on a single -16an bung for the catch can on the timing chain side of the rocker cover.

I will then need to design my own catch can and send the dimensions to Speedfactory for them to make me a one off catch can.

Brake booster line and shift knob will be for another night, started getting real windy out here.
