Hey all! Wow, feels like its been a while since I've updated this thing. First of all, happy belated new years to all and hope you have a great 2014.
Couple things have changed with the car over the new years but my wallet remains the same: Empty. :/
Anyways, I ended up attending the JDMyard EOYM, it was a great meet with some amazing honda vehicles on display! Credits to Justin Sung for the photo
They also had some sales and I decided to pick up some OEM window visors for the car
Next up, my good pal Shak helped me buy a few things from Japan via Jesse Streeter. I wanted some accessories for my car so I opted to buy: Spoon wiper blades, Mugen oil cap and Mugen radiator cap. Unfortunately the Mugen caps are on back-order ATM so I haven't received them yet. On the plus side though, the Spoon wipers arrived.

I know they're just wipers but it's a huge different in my eyes
Finally, since I've been on uni break I've managed to save some money for an exhaust. I had a long thought about which cat-back I'd buy. Many came to mind such as the Fujitsubo powergetter, RM01A or J's racing 60rs. I looked around and the market price for these used on average were about 700-800$. Having scrolled through Facebook, I noticed that JDMyard were offering the Invidia q200 exhaust for the DC5R for 900$ brand new. Now I haven't dealt with Invidia exhausts before nor do I know anyone who has in NSW or AUS for that matter but researching on the net, they seem to be very popular in the US and a very reputable brand. I couldn't find any sound clips on them though but the price was too good to refuse, especially for a brand new cat-back so I decided to take the plunge, go down to JDMyard with Shak to pick it up and be the test dummy. #YOLO?
Ofcourse, the car was once again up on stands at SYP head-quarters and head mechanic Shak along with supervisor Danny got their hands dirty and began to work.
Stock exhaust off! Now it's time to bolt on the exhaust

I must say I was a tad nervous simply because well.. I was pretty much in the dark in terms of how the car would sound but once we got the car off the stands , I turned it on and it sounded pretty good! Revved it a couple times and smiles all round.
The exhaust is not over the top, it has a nice deep tone to it, when I'm cruising I can barely hear it which is good as I didn't want attention and it screams on vtec just like an exhaust should! Also love it when down-shifting. Haven't used my head unit for music since, just wind the window down and enjoy hahaha. Car feels abit more responsive aswell.
That's all for now, next up is installing my Hasport 60a engine mounts I've had under my bed for about 3 months now and looking for Toda headers.
Would like to thank Shakeel, Danny for doing the dirty work and getting their hands dirty from the exhaust. Till next time..
I've had the q300 70mm for about a year now! I was worried because there aren't many with the invidia out here.. but for 70mm and all the reviews from crsx I did what you do aswell!
Congrats man
Hello all, long time no update. Nothing much has been happening, just a minor update.. managed to find a set of headers. I was initially keen on Toda headers but it didn't work out and scanning through forums I came across a cheap set of 4-2-1 Spoon headers for sale. Price was too good to refuse and it had a Hi-flow cat welded on it already so I immediately went to pick them up!
Now with after market headers for the DC5, an EP3 swaybar is needed so I went ahead and purchased that aswell! Few days later decided to go get them installed as I couldn't wait anymore!
Stock header off! Man that looks restrictive!
aaaaaaaand it's in! (aing, no pun intended)
Wow, what a difference headers make I must say.. could feel it immediately as I left the workshop, much more responsive and fun to drive!
Also as of 21st March 2014.... I have officially gutter rashed my wheel ...... First time I've ever gutter rashed any wheel on any of my current and previous cars'. It's only a little nick but FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was and still am so pissed at myself... it hurts so bad
