are those maguard wheel nuts you have on?! coz i have the same hahaha
MIRIN BREMBOS!
Yeah they're Mcgards !
Grabbed this today, wasn't going to work on the interior until I finished some other parts under the hood but this came up for sale so didn't hesistate !
Going to see if I can be stuffed wearing gloves for daily or just wear the suede out..Now I need some new seats to go with it.
Almost forgot I had this thread..Progress been slow as I've been saving money for a bike
So before I went overseas end of last year I ordered Mugen S1R seats, dudes called Mugen and they said yeah they got a few in stock left..Well guess what, after I came back months later they told me the stock they had left were damaged ones..FARK. They had S1 seats which I didn't really like, have to stalk Yahoo Japan for them now.
Don't think I posted this after I put the wheel on
Small and nice, feels more go-karty. Car horn is also super loud too haha, I jumped in my seat first time I slammed it. Repeated light press is all that's needed to satisfy the inner road rageness.
Picked up a new rocker cover thanks to Jaz, also thanks for installing it. Very happy with how it looks.
Now just deciding about the ignition cover and silver i-vtec cover.
Been going midnight twisty runs, good practice for heel toeing. Downhill was scary as. Racked up some small stone chips on the front.. Also had a go in my friend's DC2R too which was fun, feels very light but can definitely feel the slightly weaker engine going uphill.
Still waiting for my headers, slowest fags in history. Waiting to see how it feels although been itching to get a more aggressive setup than the fujitsubo..
Hopefully hit the tracks later this year although I might be going away for a couple of months.
Car was idle hunting from 1k to 2k RPM so went to Josh and had the IACV replaced. Was no fun driving around with people thinking I am revving stupidly for no reason. Car was also jerky on low RPMs. Only thing I will miss somtimes is the auto-rev match when I downgear.
Finally fitted the Toda Headers, the power increase was obvious. Probably the most noticeable mod I've done so far. Noise change wasn't apparent on normal driving but mid to high RPMs I did notice a nice racier tone.
Added another Honda to the garage..been too damn cold to ride much
I had the First Molding Carbon Rear Diffusser fitted
Took the lip off as it needed to be modified/drilled to fit and I may have to plans to change the rear bumper so decided to take it off for now. Damn those holes.
Picked a RAYs keyring for free !
Done some shopping while I was overseas so the ribbon bombing of the shifter continues..
Changed my airbox to a ARC Brazing Super Induction as it offered better low-mid range power & supposedly quicker response.
Kept the Gruppe M's scoop duct to try draw more air !! Makes a very nice air sucking noise when driving.
Soooo this about marks a year and half since I owned the car. Still got a year & half on P's before maybe changing cars..I almost put the car up for sale as my next car that I've been eyeing has come down in price a lot recently..But I think I will wait P's out and see if I can keep this R after it retires as a daily.
The diffuser collects puddles of water when it rains so I had some holes drilled to let the water out. Next is figuring out a way for the pebbles which I am working on..
Finally got around to hitting Winton. Was planning on just using KU31s for it but few days before the track found out the rears were on indicators. Wanted to use full street tyres for my first Winton but got persuaded into RS3's. Only had a pair for my size in stock so rears changed to NS2R's. Scheduling was bad as the previous night I didn't sleep, worked until 5AM (trader..American hours..) then had the long drive to Winton.
Spun out into the grass on the first session when the track was wet in the morning. Also had no idea what to set tyre pressure so just dropped a few after each session and hoped for the best haha. The beginner group was packed as..when I went on at the end of que the first few cars already done a lap so I was warming up in middle of other people's hot laps and everything was all clustered which was a shame, with a few guys who were into the 1.40's in the beginners..so I didn't get many laps without having to move to let people pass. Oh well had fun anyway without trouble anyway, ended up with 1:58. Hehe crap as but means next time I can only get better. Afterwards I was told the tyres wore evenly which means I was probably underdriving as opposed to overdriving it.
Later on had a chance so sit in my friend's beast..
It was actually pretty comfy after you crawl inside. Not a bad daily it you can get over no cupholder or stash in the middle, no side pockets on the doors..
Changed my exhaust to Amuse R1 Titan
Pretty loud and droney now which I don't mind, just hope I can stay under the radar..VTEC is pretty crazy the exhaust covers the intake sound which I didn't think was possible.
Sorry tried recording with a crappy phone..dosn't capture it. Will try get a proper recording next time. The exhaust hangs really low scrapes on small speedbumps so I am going to raise the car. Already sick of dragging the carbon diffusser over stuff and the exhaust is even lower than the diffusser.
Finish off with a pic from Honda credits to Kezza Photography.
That's it for the year..be overseas soon avoid the stupid Vicpol road blitz. Next year probably modding continues and more tracking hopefully and hunt for another car as I approach fulls.
Have you got a full shot of the rear of the car with the diffuser? I really want to see how it looks. I considered the First Molding diffuser but didn't think it looked aggressive enough, which is why I opted for Top 1.

Top 1 was too aggressive for me with the "spikes". First Molding also fits some other rear bars if I decide to aftermarket in the future.
Excuse my friend's foolish laughs. Only one downshift sorry, should've got more of it sounds so good the revmatch. Trying to make a proper footage of Box Hill underground car park..(low roof and tight walls )
Starting another car project (non Honda) so progress will be slow on this, but I am planning on tracking this whenever I can !
