Yeah dude that sucks the big one, I read your thread about it and posted in there about my experience. They shouldn't have charged you in my opinion, saying they will do it when you get back is just a bullshit way of getting cash up front in case you don't end up going back. Good luck with it dude, you'd think someone who was a Honda fan in the first place would try and be more helpful and offer better service to someone they know, and someone who frequents forums and can spread good words.

So today I finished my studies early and got bored so decided to finish up my stereo. I went into JB Hi Fi and bought another set of the Sony XS-GTX1641 speakers as I was MORE than happy with the performance of these speakers in the back of the car. I didn't install them myself as front speakers are a touch harder to install, so I went to JB's recommended installers and had them do it for a few bucks.
Although they are far from top of the line speakers, the quality to value ratio is fantastic. I'm very happy with all four Sony XS-GTX1641 speakers I have in the car running off the head unit. The only thing I'd want to change down the track is the head unit to a double din GPS system. There's other things that need to be addressed first though like getting the car tuned and fixing the shitty temperamental alarm.

+1 for RevZone being an awesome workshop. Take it there for your tune.

Dropped the car off at Revzone at 8am this morning and had the keys handed back at 4pm, it was one of THE longest waits of my life! I drove back at the start of peak hour so I didn't have many opportunities to take the revs high, too many cars. Even the on ramp to the freeway was banked up, everyone was doing 60km. I can't yet comment on the increase in torque and kw at vtec (which is set at 5k) but I can say that the car does feel incredibly different. Gear shifts felt smoother and the motor appeared to run a whole lot smoother and less 'rough'. I'm not sure if this is the result of the tune or if its my mind playing tricks on me, but the car feels much more drivable.
I didn't have an expectation on numbers, I just wanted the car to operate to its maximum potential. The blueish line represents the new tune, the red line was with the base map from kpro.
I'm very happy with the gains at vtec engagement (we're talking numbers here I'm yet to experience it) for both torque and kw. Anyway, here are the graphs.

Nice, do they use a rolling dyno or a hub dyno??

                  was on a hub dyno

                    revzone is hub

                    144? thats a bit low

everyone with i/h/e/ + kpro usually gets 155+ at the hubs on that dyno!

Justin the guy who runs the joint was expecting those numbers too. I'm not overly fussed, the numbers are in-line with TodaAu's bang for buck thread so I'm happy. I'm not overly concerned about numbers, I just want the car running smoothly Although 155kw+ would be nice bragging rights hehe

mate i think u should do a compression test

u probably lose about 15kw at the wheels...so on a rolling it would read 129kw at the wheels??

                        mate doesnt sound right...

Go to any mechanic who can do the compression test but tbh i think your alright...
If your following TODA AU's thread i think you'll be okay...
Even Adrian has said, some will read abit higher some abit lower.. etc

Yeh agreed with above mate, it's not that expensive to get cylinder compression tested for piece of mind.

Sweet as I'll call around tomorrow morning and book it in for a test. My poor little automobile hehe, it's sick and needs testing What's the usual charge and duration to get this done?

Is this information relevant to Hondas as well?

As a rule, most engines should have 140 to 160 lbs. of cranking compression with no more than 10% difference between any of the cylinders.

Low compression in one cylinder usually indicates a bad exhaust valve. Low compression in two adjacent cylinders typically means you have a bad head gasket. Low compression in all cylinders would tell you the rings and cylinders are worn and the engine needs to be overhauled
