I personally feel the TB/intake manifold upgradr isbt worth the coin. Ppl do it with k24 swaps cos tey gotta find a manifold anyways... I mean to get a few more kw at the cost of royghly $1200... I dont feel its worth it.

Just to correct what alex said, an RBC doesn't cost 1200. You can get it for easily for 350. But you need gaskets. And obviously the labour cost is going to add up if you don't do it yourself. It does help top range power and torque due to the design of the plenums being straighter and larger in diameter. There is an article on street magazine of k-series manifold. Should read it.Last edited by Norm; 12-10-11, 12:17 PM.

Called Honda today and I'm going in to get the ECU and keys reset so no more flashing light. Hopefully I don't run into the same problems as another user on here *knock on wood*
I spoke to a few tuners about the RBC route and they said not to bother until I've done cams, springs, retainers, TB etc etc - I think I agree. The power with just the base map is already crazy amounts for me so I decided to leave it with I/H/E and get it tuned.
Called Revzone this morning and I'm booked in for a tune on Tuesday next week, very excited!!!!
When I finish studying (end of this semester) and get a bit more coin I'll turn my focus on little things such as new head unit with GPS, new component speakers and some kind of alarm I'm yet to decide on that has remote start and 2way.
I don't think I want to do much aesthetically apart from a detail, my aim is to keep this looking bog stock so I don't get heat from the police and so that little kids in commodores or falcons with 20" rims and an exhaust get a bit of a shock when I jizz all over their bonnets

I don't want to be stepping on any toes. But what does you 1000-1200 consist off? For all I'm aware, manifold is 350, manifold gasket is 100-140 and and a new tb gasket cost 14 dollars from honda. Its a direct bolt on and you can drive it fine. Not advisable as your air fuel ratio mixtures are wrong but I dunno where you got your figures from. If your saying "other parts" as in kpro. The cost then surges up to 950 (kpro) tune 700-800. The labour of installing the manifold is where most of the cost is but please clarify what other parts are needed.

It all depends on if you are doing it yourself, youight have to mod the rbc if it's straight out of the box, you either need a new tb or some kind of adapter to fit the rbc to the tb. Have to mod the stock fuel rail slightly to get it to fit. Plug up a hole on the rbc. Maybe some other various parts as well.
That's all that I. Can remember but I don't think that with everything considered is going to cost 1k or above

If I was going down the path of the Intake Manifold upgrade, I'd change the throttle body also. Hybrid Racing 70mm TB ~$410 USD plus shipping, Tein Hood dampers ~$200USD shipped. My post regarding $1000-1200 is replacing the throttle body as well. If you arent changing to aftermarket TB, what you said is correct Norm.

Not sure how much labour would be for an install but I can't see it being more than a couple hundred at most.
So I played with kpro today.................................... big mistake
I took the car to Honda and brought my laptop along, even though the lady on the phone said they have everything they need to reset it, I said, "I have a piggy back kinda setup" and she responds with "oh yes, we have the experience and technical support to be able to fix your immobilizer problem" - Lucky I read up about it and brought my laptop anyway hahaha. Half way through it I get the whole "yeah we can't read your ECU" and I explained the whole thing. The guys at Honda hadn't even seen wtf I was doing, one of them even said "holy shit dude, are you like in IT, this shits like from fast and the furious" Anyway, long story short, I coudn't get my laptop to read the ECU, so I ended up going home with a blinking immobilizer light. What was nice though, unlike another member on here who got unfairly charged, I didn't get charged a dime, and the Honda mechanics were SUPER SUPER helpful and didn't mind at all that I had wasted about 30 minutes of their time trying to set the whole thing up. Totally cool guys
Anyway, so thats when the problems started. I went to JB Hi Fi thinking that it may be my USB cable, bought another, same problem. So I lugged my other laptop (with no battery) outta the house and ran an extension cable to the garage, and then it worked!!!!!!! I opened up Kpro, ran a base map, set a launch control rev limit for lols then uploaded and off I went for a drive... Upon turning the ignition key on, 3 seconds letter I throw a cel. So I open kpro up again and turn off all the cel warning thingamajiggys, upload again, turn car on and STILL a cel. So I say fuckit as I'm getting my car tuned on Tuesday anyway and I go for a drive... I then notice that the car doesn't rev past 4k. I go back, launch Kpro again and theres another CEL associated with VTEC. BAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!!! Why didn't these problems exist yesterday when it was running a basemap? Crazy.
Computers, cars, software are exactly like women, works one day, doesn't the next, works with one computer, doesn't work with the other, works with base map, doesn't work with base map, so god damned temperamental!!
Anyways, I saw a nice Red Lanyard at Honda and bought it hahaha
Uploaded with ImageShack.us
So my questions are...
A.) If I throw my stock ECU back in, will it solve all problems? No more cels etc etc? Will there be any immobilizer issues?
B.) Will the guys that tune the car be able to address the issues with cels and all the other issues apart from the immobilizer?
C.) Is it imperative to have your ECU set to the immobilizer prior to getting it tuned, will having the immobilizer set to the ECU reset the settings on the ECU in anyway?Last edited by Peachy; 12-10-11, 11:08 PM.

dude seriously, your username... I've had pizza three nights this week and I think it's because every time I log onto clubitr I see your username, and it makes me want pizza.....
I went to try and fix my problem with kpro (or shall i say problem with my inability to use it). I called Revzone and spoke with a guy called Justin.... Man, I've never experienced such bloody good customer service in my life!!! He spent 30 minutes on the phone with me and remotely connected to my PC and ECU and fixed the problem. I really couldn't believe my eyes and it made me think about technology.... here I was, talking to a guy on the other side of Melbourne, whose remotely connected to my computer, which is connected to my ECU.... all while Asimo was making me a toasted sandwich
Big rep points to the boys at Revzone, I hadn't spent a dime there and they spent so much time fixing a problem that they didn't need to fix in the first place. He was very helpful, I really can't state that enough.
God I love technology!!
