that is all you will get - mixed opinions.

it is an 'old school' concern - back when dirt used to be able to get into brake fluid easily (i.e. dodgy mechanics re-using old fluid?)...

if you have always used clean brake fluid - you have no worries...

but think of it this way - would Honda have designed it so it could so easily be damaged?

why does the factory manual say nothing on the subject?

BTW - it DOES say to bleed the front first,

but i doubt this is your problem:

yes, there are many 'old school' methods that Honda has turned on its head...

                welcome to the new school

Hi Tinkerbell thanks for your advice as well! definately print these off and show the mechanic.

Also just to clear things up all the old fluid has been flushed out completely. so there shouldn't be any dot3 left in the system.

anyhow im taking it back to the mechanic, will let you knows how it goes. fingers crossed we can find the problem.

                    cheers

i gravity bleed my brakes, no chance of air getting into the system!

any chance your mechanic let the brake reservoir run dry while bleeding and forgot to top it up? if so, your MC is stuffed

                        thanks totti!

no the brake reservoir is completely topped to the max i double check this a few times, even after the bleed. and he checks the MC after each bleed before moving on to the next one.

does anyone know that once the system is completely flushed and refilled does the fluid automatically go through the ABS? or do you have to activate the ABS in one way or another for the fluid to go through. (sorry i know noob qns)

anyhow going back to the mechanic tonight...fingers crossed!

                        cheers guys!

fluid flushes through abs without havn to do anything

If you really overcooked your brakes from the last track day, I would check the seals on your brake calipers too. Check the brake booster because those can go bad too over time.

surelly youd think the mechanic would of checked for any sort of wear or even leaks when the piston was pushed bak and if the seals or diaphram in the booster were stuffed wouldnt u think the pedal would be hard all the time...? because of no vacuum assist
