but if the prev owner got a mugen cpu and mugen or toda high rpm valve springs then its all good
yes, but but the engine is controled by the ECU, not the tacho. So the tacho is showing the incorrect information, but the ECU knows whats going on, and well prevent it from happening... becaus you know... Honda spend millions of dollars enginering the cars and all...

In all honesty... i don't see what the big problem is... your tacho is reading a few hundred RPM more (at higher revs) then what it should, I dunno about you guys... but when i drive my teg at high revs i'm looking at the road and listening to the engine to tell me when to shift... not looking at the tacho. (the only time i ever hit fuel cut off is in the wet)

              but i think ITR says 800rpm +/- 50rpm...

checking the ecu should clarify this right?

Mugen ECU's have Rev cuts?? My understanding was that they didn't...

my bro's ausspec DC2 ITR idle's at 800 and we see the rpm reach about 9250.
but yeah that's just wat we see. if tach is wrong then it's wrong.. just letting you guys know..

what do you mean? mugen ecu has a higher rpm cutoff than stock ecu...

can't really trust an RSM that much either, I've had my RSM register a max rpm of 9027 before in a stock DC2R

Are the settings on RSM correct?
