    im currently using 10w-30 in my dc2r..
    altho im burning quite a bit of oil..

    guys at hanny's suggested that i try 5w-50 MOBILE 1.. so that's wats goin in nx

      i use to use shell ultra 10-40 i think and it was fine driving normal and track, changed every 5000km and the oil was still nice and gold when i drained it.

        Here is some food for throught.
        Oil is mean to collect depositories and carbon right?
        So if you change @ 5,000km and your oil is still nice and gold....

        Maybe your engine is burning very cleanly

        I was always under the frame of mind that if you're burning oil then you move to a thicker?

                        slightly off topic.. i can't quite get over how they extract used engine oil from the cars at hannys... is sucking the oil out of the oil filler hole more efficient than getting it from the sump?

                          It's supposedly the better way by it actually removing more oil than just draining it from the sump...

                                spoke to peter.. he rekons i should try Honda oil b4 i try anything else. so i might do that this arvo..

                                hopefully it'l stop the oil burning and reduce smoke from the exhaust
