clutch + flywheel for dc2r (+LSD?)

How heavy is the pedal? When driving off in first gear, how many revs do you need to give it for a smooth take off? I'm still trying to decide whether to upgrade, and if I do whether to go ORC or Toda Hi Power.

Toda high power is the new clutch/flywheel package from today?

if so, i think they have very similar bite characteristics to the orc (on the dc2 anyway)

blackdc2 is right, the Toda Hi Power is the (relatively) new clutch kit from Toda, and it does have a very similar bite to the ORC.... but I think the ORC pedal is a tiny bit heavier? (It's probably just me..)

jimboy- in terms of how many revs do you need for a smooth take-off from first - I have no idea? I usually find the-almost-nonexistant-fiction-point and go from there? Sorry.

I can't really help beyond this...best to try it out or ask the people you're buying things off?

I don't know the differences, but one thing I do know is that with the ORC and Toda (Hi Power) kits, once your clutch wears....you have to get the same clutch again- I don't remember WHY...something to do with the housing or flywheel or something maybe?

But the Exedy clutches are interchangable I think? So if you get a sports organic and it wears, you can get a sports ceramic or whatever...

I've had the Exedy for a few years now; as a daily driver it can annoy you when in traffic. Good thing is now with a bigger left leg using the ORC or Toda will be easier to control.

Well, I mean if clutch pedal feel is so important then pay a bit more and get the ORC super single or Exedy Hyper single they feel like stock but grippier.

Clutches have improved since those notorious brass button days

Or even better...ATS carbon clutch.
I drove a twin carbon ATS clutch equipped 34 and it's easy to drive.

My friend has one on his turbo Integra, seems to have a good bite (exedy<extreme<hypersingle) and have a standard like pedal feel.

Ill ask for a drive of it one day to see how it feels.

i ran one of those extremes, worked pretty well up to 175kws atw for their brass unit. After that power though, i copped alot of slippage.

I got mine through my tuner, but you can get them at www.adelaidebrakeclutch.com.au or something like that. (made in adelaide im told)

i just got my new clutch in last week..
got the toda flywheel + exedy heavy duty ceramic. It is a 5 puk ceramic clutch plate which is a button clutch but also has torque springs which makes it a easier drive than a conventional brass button clutch.

First impressions with the clutch pedal feel was very solid and springy, so it felt precise. Taking off for the first time was quite strange cause my stock clutch was worn to the metal almost, so the friction point was all over the place. My new clutch has a little room for mistakes but grabs like any brass button clutch would, so i think its streetable and also aggressive when you want it to be.

I tested it with a launch and 2nd + 3rd gears, and i didnt lose traction at all! I was quite impressed and after only a couple of days with it in i was confident with the clutch and used to it already. It wasnt expensive either so i think its a great choice if you dont want to have a clutch too hardcore for the street.

no it does require a heavy foot...quite easy to drive

I am using exedy ceramic clutch. It has very good response. I don't try hypre single plate due to i am worry about the daily drive.

My ORC is about to be replaced after 50,000kms, it's slipping badly. I found it much heavier than stock and a fair pain for slow driving. It's weird because others experience is that it's light.
On the good side, when going hard it used to provide instant grip and response when changing gears, its much more aggressive over stock.

I'm keeping the ORC flywheel and going for a exedy sports organic.
