Maybe they should bring in 100 under the low volume ruling like the EVO 6.5's.

I agree that if it ever make it to our shore, it will have to be those low number import kinda thing. My gut feeling is that it's gonna be 45 - 50K for the full spec. But then again, Australia is so famous of brining in watered down cars, hence my hopes are low for the full spec Civic R.

          no probz

would it be fair to say that Honda cars in general, taking into account the price and what it can deliver, its not worth it?
Because, if i have a multi billion dollar company that competes against stupidly competitive companies, i want to my fair share of the money!! Toyota has gone silly with their camrys (silly in a good way that is), and Mazda has stamped their authority with their MPS 3 and MPS 6, and Honda is still bringing out crappy lil 2lt NA over priced chubby racoon looking R's...

Fair enough, stock std honda engines are remarkable, and produce stupid amounts of power through the rev range (in NA form)... but you've gotta be realistic.. in short, the aftermarket potential is very limited. Evo for example.. the almighty 4G63, super powerful in stock form and absolutely superior in aftermarket potential!

No way Honda is gonna keep up with them if they keep making crappy civics and integra type R's NA.. Forced Induction!! that's what we need i tell ya!!

Should you be comparing honda's to an evo? if so compare fuel, insurance, running costs as well.
I belive integra, CRX even s2000 in a different market to your nomal "performance" cars instead its in a class of doing more with less than everyone else like FF, < 2000cc , NA.
Turbo is easy .....strong internals, decompress and boost like mad. Now how bout this for a challange stock production engine with 120hp per litre NA all this at the same time and make it a low emission complient... even ferrari find that hard to beat
an BTW you can boost a honda to

i don't understand why they don't bring them in.

With the Gen4 VW R32 Golf (limited to 200 cars) they where all sold prior to the car even reaching Aus shores. Hence why VWAus arn't limiting the amount of Gen5 R32's they are bring in... they are actually releaseing both the 3 and 5 doors.... and whilst on the Subject of VW's... Australia was the FIRST country to receive the new VW Poli GTi... even before all the Euro countries.

its stupid... they think people won't go for them... with with raising fuel prices, people are going to go for the "turbo/performance 4" over the V8.. or even V6.

              LONG LIVE THE 4

do they have to do full crash testing and australian compliance blah blah blah if they do a small number of limited cars instead of an open full number?

maybe if they dont expect to sell 1000 or more cars then they say the full testing / compliance aint worth it so they just apply for a small limited import license and be done with it?

i am making this up but it might be true... ??

If Honda Aus does bring in the new CTR, they are entering the market too late. There is already a good selection of 4cylinder performance cars in the market that are more favourable in the eyes of an average consumer. Unless they price it ridiculously low, i don't see many people buying it.

However, i do agree a limited release would be the best option if they really want to bring it here.

As long as they stop detuning shit and bring it a proper model, only then will it please enthusiasts. Some manufacturers are doing the right thing while others simply don't get it ... I don't see the great fascination with making an export spec to a factory JDM spec. More often or not, this is simply a mindset of what is so great when it's nothing more than "mind games".

                      hmm....i still prefer an N/A car......compare the S15 with the ITR...both produce
the same power...yet one company goes the easy way of slapping in a turbo
and the other company goes the other way of producing a quality engine..

I think i express that wrong.....cant put into words.....less just say if an S15 beats an ITR...they cant brag as much as an ITR beats an S15......yeah yeah?

Honda will be pretty stupid if they bring the CTR.....the CTR will steal customer's
from the Integra Type S and vice versa, right?????

Price wise they are in the same bracket but you're comparing a 2.0L NA FWD with a 2.0L FI RWD.

Not knocking you, but aren't you a CT9A owner yourself?

Your comments are very "Honda" bias without considering the merits and engineering development of the SR20DET. Since you don't think there is any engineering in that, I won't bother opening up a pipe on the engine differences alone.

And the S15 detuned junk we get exported cannot be compared with a real S15. They actually produce similar power cues to an AP1/2 instead of a DC2/5 regardless. And the S15 was meant to target the Honda 2.0 Litre NA FR solution which wasn't available before.

Yes, you can laugh about the lesser engineered S15s vs. the gem pool of FF Honda handling and the magic B18/K20 blocks. But no less of a comparison, you should note the potential of the SR20DET does extend further than the B18/K20 combined.

Love Honda, yes ... But don't blind yourself with what other competitors are putting out. You often don't just compete against other Hondas, it's an open world out there.

integra is finished anyway so that doesn't matter
