Our local Honda dealer saw freakygeek and I coming a mile away, when we went to look at it.

In Tamworth they want $46k on the road for one.
I recon the guy at scone wasn't real keen for us to sit in it.....Let alone test drive it

wow! what a thread. I received the Honda Mag in the post today and was reading up on the R and thought i would go to a more reputable source - 'New civic R $39990?' thread on CITR. When i owned my DC5 Type R and heard of the release of the Type S i was on the bandwagon of saying, "aww mah gawd, what is Honda Australia doing", but alas, i now and the proud owner of a DC5 Type S, funny huh???

So anyways, i was rather compelled by the figures of the 07 Cvc Type R in the magazine and rather boggled how it could achieve faster times then my Type S, is it the racaros versus my leather, shit! Im gonna go check one out tomorrow and see it in person on my way home - ill be going to the blacktown Honda and if i am not in business attire and without my Type S, they will probably call the cops on me!

Funny how Honda (insert country other than Japan) always gets flamed, but are there any units that are returned due to lack of sales in the Type R/S range?? nope, they all get purchased, and hold their value i might add! who is to say what 'Type R' really means but Honda themselves? Certainly not us car buyers, i say get a job at Honda and work your way up to CEO and make it the Honda you always wanted it to be and sustain a profit! Do you think Honda will release the 07 Cvc Type R and say in their media release "This is a great car but inferior to its predecessors the DC2R and EP3R." - highly doubt it!

Anyway, thought i would join the discussion - by the way, didnt realise this was 19 pages long, i got a meeting in the morning, shit!

From a guy with a Type S with an Injen CAI and spoon progs (that never tracks)!

Pointless post but very therapeutic before bed

Hi. Thank you for finally bringing in the Civic Type R into Australia. I guess the first question that many people will ask is, why isn’t the car available in the signature Type R colour, Championship White?

                          Matthew Nicol Answers:

Yes the Championship white is considered the signature colour of the Type R. Unfortunately the UK factory is not producing this model in championship white. The reason is that white is not a very popular colour in Europe because in snowy conditions the white car becomes invisible.

                                Update on CTR:

My friend just recently dynoed his CTR, it has 2500 km stock as rock with only additional top fuel power neo, he made 154.4 hp at the wheel.

As for comparison my friend DC5R has 50000 km with only gruppem intake as his mods, the car made 147 hp at the wheel.

FYI, the dyno was done at the same day in Perth Autosalon.

Stock CTR is definetely faster than stock DC5R (not sure about DC5S) and IMHO CTR handles and corners better than DC5R.
