How to spend $2000 on a dc2r?

Hey fellas, Just wanting to get everyone else's opinions on mods on a dc2r...

I'm not too concerned with suspension at the moment as my driving skills are nowhere good enough to test the limits of a dc2r...

I have the money and plan to do the occasional track event but it will be more of a daily driven street car..

Any opinions will be greatly appreciated...

headers, high-flow cat & catback? Not sure if you can get all that for 2k though.

coil-over suspension will improve the car the most...

any "bolt-on" performance modifications will improve the car very little...

you need to be more specific in what you wiant to *gain*

e.g. you could spend 2 grand on a nice headunit, some good splits and a subwoofer with amplifier...

If you want to be more serious about the track, my opinion is to use the money to purchase parts (eg. oil cooler, baffle sump / sump plates) to make sure the car won't blow up on the track.

If it's more of a street driven type, I would spend it on CAI first. If you don't have a MP3 player in the car, buy a MP3 head unit, and Recaro head rests for the Recaros

love the varied responses! I guess it really does come down to personal preferences...

I was advised (by a tuner i know) not to touch the suspension unless i have a really good idea of what I'm doing.. so I'm going to stay away from suspension altogether.. I want coilovers but cannot justify the price tag when i cant even use the car's stock cornering performance to the full.. I would like to go to the track and grow my skills and then perhaps move onto a modded suspension package...

So i was thinking of getting:

1. Mugen Air Box
2. Full Exhaust
(nb. parts are going to be either 2nd hand or new at sale prices)

yay or nay? Does everyone agree with my principle about the suspension or am I going to be better off just going for the suspension?

get the handling parts 1st b4 power increase
no use if the car is fast but handles like a boat

due to lack of adjustments.. can't adjust the damper or ride height.. now that is FTL!

I agree entirely. Spending money for bolt-on 'power-producing' performance mods is near pointless on a dc2r. If your going to spend any money on the car, it would be best to look at coil-over suspension or some good tyres.

Through all this you have to bear in mind that the car is pretty much at its peak and, without spending large amounts of money, most modifcations are going to come at little benefit. Given that, it may even be better to spend the money on some track time with an instructor to develop your skills and learn to use what you already have.
