cool thanks for that My car looks high

I installed my harness today, after procrastinating over "ideal" mounting angles, installing stress plates into the floor, custom making brackets etc i just ended up bolting it to the only place i could fit the eye bolt in, may not be ideal but it will do the job. Sorry for the rubbush picture quality, couldn't be bothered getting the SLR out after spending 3 hours clay barring/waxing the car

Eye bolt installed into seat belt bracket, not nearly far back enough for my liking but its the strongest place to put it.

Picture of the Harness in the car.

For some strange reason unbeknowest to me, Sparco like to put their shoulder strap holes in their seats to accomodate jockey midgets... I am not sure if this hole SHOULD always lie above your shoulder level but in my case it certainly doesn't. In the future i will use some kind of harness bar to get the harness at a nice angle, it certainly holds me in nicely though

In all honesty though, if i did pay full price for my Takata harness i would have bought something better like a Willans or Schrothe, While the Takata gets you bling points little things like the difficulty in adjusting strap length with the Takata does leave a bit to be desired.

Very much excite for Honda Nationals

P.S Timmy thanks for lending me your GoPro for my sessions, even though i havn't asked you yet hehe.

UPDATE - Honda Nationals at Wakefield Park

                Hey Guys,

Just thought i would do a little write up of my experience at the inaugural Honda Nationals at Wakefield Park which was without a doubt one of the most enjoyable days i have ever had. There was a pre-dinner the nite before the event at the Tattersaw pub where we could finally meet the interstate boys and share a beer whilst we cooked our prime sirloin steak over the huge grill. Fantastic start to the event indeed!

Here is a little compilation of photos i found from all the great photographers that attended, thankyou to those guys

Last minute packing before the trip to Goulburn on the Sunday, i was in the good company of Timmy and Eddie for the drive up.

                Timmy's car

                Some blue car...

Eddie's car all strapped up and ready to go! We almost looked like we knew what we were doing when loading up the DC5 haha.

Small Sydney meetup before the trip to Wakefield Park Raceway

Alex, best mate, myself and the infamous Felix, lord of CITR!

The view from our cabins over the last corner at Wakefield Park Raceway

Timmy and I, displaying great excitement over the passing of rain that threatened to dampen the event

Early morning preparation, checked oil levels, torqued wheel nuts, fixed lap timer and checked tyre pressures

Heres a few randoms pictures from my sessions...

I let Eddie take my car out for a passenger session so he could take his girlfriend for a few laps, she had a blast

                  Conclusions

My goal for the event was to put down a laptime that would do my car justice, i felt a 1:13 was a nice achievable goal to set for the day. My previous best was a 1:19 with an almost standard car on a partially wet track so i was certain to see big improvements.

Track conditions were immaculate straight from our 6am wakeup (not that i got much sleep because of constant noise coming from Alex and Timmy's cabin next to us, what the heck were you guys doing all nite ??). There was a great atmosphere from the moment we made our way from the cabins to our desired garage spot, i was feeling quite nervous in anticipation and excitement. Things got real when Benny handed us our Username stickers and branded our cars into their classes........game on!

The first few sessions i used to get my eye in and work out my rough braking points etc, managed to get a 1:15.3 in the first timed session, not a bad start. I struggled early on a little with my braking, broke the tail loose a few times whilst trail braking and spun on the fishhook in the first passenger session (sorry Felix). Increasing the rear rebound damping helped to settle the back end.

Some advice from Felix cleaned up my lines considerably and in the 3rd timed session with fuel getting lower i was thrilled when Prash reported back from the Natsoft display saying i got a 1:13.06.

The car felt awesome all day, power was fantastic, the LSD helped pull the car through the corners, brakes were solid and the suspension felt great. I did feel like i needed more front tyre though. I believe i ended up finishing third in Semi Modified class behind Narada and Berty's DC2R's on semis so i was pretty proud of the result in that respect

Thanks to Benny and Jimmy for Organising the event and the prep work you guys did to my car as well as the awesome tune, bring on Honda Nationals 2012 - 1:10 target time!

Thanks for coming for a ride with me in the first session, helped quite a bit I still laugh at me sprinting from the pits and back to get my helmet for a ride in your car only to be knocked back at the starting line by Jimmy, bastard haha!!!!

For what its worth it felt awesome just sitting in your car, feels so much lower and wider then the DC5.
