if you put a straight through and delete the cat most of the drone will be eliminated but general loudness will be increased. A high flow cat is in between that and what we have now which probably would be a better option?

              helloooo! update time.

so following Phillip's go at some sound deadening, we sold me some squares of studio foam and i pretty much replicated his work. just didnt have the carpet underlay, which i will still get later on.

Results have shown a big decrease in drone around 3-4k rpm, much more pleasant! brings out a deeper tone in the cabin, kinda sexy hehe.

Next up, i had to go uni one morning, dropped by maccas for some brekky, and this is what i found when i came back. how do new kids get their licenses nowadays? haha damn...so close to my banana!

that afternoon, just gave it a long deserved wash. I havent washed the car for more than a month! sorry paint but I dont care right now, not until you get a respray.

And finally, today, i received a long awaited addition. Having sold my skunk2 knob to Phil, i put my old one on and it was ugly, lots of scratches etc. Btw, what can be so rough on your hands to allow it to scratch the gear knob anyway? :S

              i replaced this:

              for this:

It's a Moddiction countersunk weighted gear knob, so the knob sits about a inch lower than stock height. I'm definitely keeping this guy for future cars haha

that is all guys! thanks for reading!

                      oh haiiii
its been a while since i last updated, not much has changed due to lack of funds, and study, and work (only to keep petrol in my car lulz)...so yeah! but uni has finally ended for the year! WOOO!! so i sought out some spare time to give my banana some attention ^^
Just recently, i got bored and my mate said either way he was gonna work on a car, either his or someone else's, so we went out and started shopping. We ended up going to JB hifi for some 30% car sound craze, only to find the 6x9 that he bought didnt fit his car LAWLL, I hope he swapped them over and got some new ones that fitted.
Afterwards, we headed off the clark rubber as we wanted to find some carpet underlay for some sound insulating in the rear boot. We ended up getting some 5mm Formshield, which is some proper sound deadening material.

Here's a few photos of the install!

                      Results:
On the evening that followed, I had to go out for dinner, so it was a good chance for me to test this new layer of stuff. It's GREAT!!
for installation, there was a 5mm and 10mm thickness option. We went for the 5mm as the 10mm was obviously too thick to fit under the boot lining. Putting the boot liner back in was too easy as the Formshield didnt affect the fitting, which was good!

As i drove with the newly lined boot for the first time, I didn't notice too much, but upon revving to the deaf zone 3-4k rpm, there was a dramatic reduction in drone. The rear end sounded a lot more quiet, and exhaust noise was coming more from around the car, rather than through it. It is a very lightweight material that won't rip a hole in your pocket, only $20 per sqm, so i highly recommend this stuff if you're looking for a cheap solution.

                      Thanks for reading
