It's even better when nobody sees it coming

Little update which is happening this week to get the ball rolling...
Took the adapter off the RSP and mounted it on the RRC. Wow the mouth is much bigger than the RSP stock vs Stock.
Not much meat to take out to get it to 70mm at all.
It begins

RSP is off now. Going to miss you buddy.
Going to clean up wiring now and figure out vacuum lines for the RRC.
Clutch next week with shifter box and cables and RRC on and painted black. Then hopefully my toda parts land the week after so Adrian can install my sh!t and start tuning.
Hopefully by the end of the month. Dyinggggg here

Clutch landed, RRC honed and painted and hopefully gearbox on tonight
Oils ready to go when it gets dropped off
Got adrian to hone and weld up the break booster outlet and re tap a new hole
Painted
RSP dwarfs the RRC badly lol
New shifter box and hr cables fitted
Exedy sports ceramic and flywheel installed
Hopefully box on tonight so I can at least have it ready to drop off to adrian next week.
Fingers crossedLast edited by Jorge; 22-01-14, 03:14 PM.

It's all back on and driving... It's awesome
But the time has come...
most of you know that I have purchased drag cartel 2.2 cams with toda valve springs. Which meant I needed a toda tensioner and Toda fd2 oil pump.
Well after a lot of talking with Adrian he has convinced me to do this...
It's an RBB yes RBB head that has been ported for maximum air speed.
Adrian is good at head tbh
Out goes my z4 head. Nothing is wrong with it. The RBB is just a better head to port for the power I'm going for.
May aswell add Compression when the head comes off.
Also Needed Arp head studs for when the head goes back on.
[
So these are RRC fd2r 11.7.1 pistons with rings ordered from japan. Zi and Yonas yet again helping me out. Thanks again fellas
Also grabbed a Spoon head gasket that's rated to increase the comp an extra 0.3.1
So that's happening and beginning as of Wednesday.
Still waiting on the toda oil pump balancer shaft delete kit and the toda valve springs to land this week. But the head needs 5 days as it's getting sent off with my other head bits for servicing etc...
RRC manifold is on and car is driving well, my new clutch is amazing and the 4.7 final drive I think will be perfect for this setup.
Now the long wait. It's all out of my hands as of weds.
Hopefully I get a good gain
Cheers fellas

Thanks man
Definitely keen to see what this combination achieves.

Let's just hope it all goes to plan lol.

but whats the go with the cast pistons? not keen to go >12.5:1 CR?
more compression is free power!
With these they are the highest comp pistons you can get from factory, it bolts up and clearances are identical to my Z4 pistons which are 11.1.1. The gain with the spoon gasket will bring it up around 12.0.1.
This means my head and bottom end come off and the engine and all the other stuff stays in the bay.
The bottom is basically coming off anyway because the oil pump balancer shafts are getting deleted and replaced with toda fd2 pump kit.
For me the gain is good enough and I'm still keeping standard internals. I'm basically turning my motor into a jap spec fd2r k20a with dc 2.2 cams, spoon gasket and ported head.
lol.Last edited by Jorge; 04-02-14, 10:07 AM.
