The car is super sexy! My car doesnt grab traction either up until 4th.. Only in the wet LOL. Keep up the progress shots and keep us updated, heaps awesome
Great build and top quality job you've done with everything! I'd love to experience this level of power in a DC2R.
My experience with launch control was that I used it as a starting point and then modulated the clutch slip to get away quickly. Not the nicest for the clutch, but the technique I found worked best on the fairly average 1/8mi dragstrip (airstrip) we were on.
The window between bogging down and frying the shit out of the tyres is quite small, lol.

A lot of time and effort with heaps of cursing went into this build. lol
Respray, Suspension, blue slip before the year ends is on the cards. All the teething problems you get after a swap is all gone now and I just enjoy driving it when I get a chance.
Work is killing me at the moment with early starts and late nights with weekend work aswell. Once a week at best if I get to drive it. Becoming a sad story actually
Launch Control is awesome when you slip a tiny bit and give it about 50-60% throttle on this setup on the street. Gets off the line very well actually. It's set to 4k RPM atm and haven't really played around with it.
And you are bang on the money about that window with frying tyres lol.

I know that feeling too... but work pays for these projects I guess

Yeah, the K20 would have heaps more midrange torque than my B18C - I set mine to around 5k and probably bounce off it at part throttle too, then just try and maintain the RPM around there while slipping clutch into it. On street tyres I think I could really only get a 2.1 60ft but I could do them over and over again consistently which got me a trophy, haha.
Are you planning to take it drag racing at WSID just to see what it can do?

Yeah man that is the plan. Definitely want to take it to wsid
Want to do suspension before I do so though. I reckon I will be the same as you on the 60ft time as well. But then again I do have plans to go and do a 3rd gear burnout before I take off. lol. The FD ratio is 5.1 and the end of third gear is only 130kms. Nice and short
Can't wait man. But Wednesday nights and work of course does not make it easy for me at all :s

Looking forward to hearing how you go
I hear there is a red K24 DC2R making a bit of noise in the 11 second range hehe!
5.1FD would be great fun to drive!

nice, sometimes too short a ratio does have its demerits
It is for what I'm going for dude. People forget that the FN2 Type R (which my engine came from) has the 5.1 final drive in it but it also weighs 1350kg and has 18inch wheels standard. Hence why the 5.1 helps the car out a lot.
But with my setup my car 1050kg at best now and I'm on 16inch wheels. All it does is spin. And considering I'm going for more power in the new year it's definitely not going to help the situation. lol
It's not asif the 5.1 FD is going to waste though. Tiana is getting it installed on her car hopefully next week. Lucky girl x
Sexual, so very sexual.
I'm jealous. But so keen to see this thing in action once its all done.
Haha thanks mate. Now that the 5.1fd is out for the 4.7 I'm going for peak power instead of midrange/response. Still love the RSP intake but unfortunately it won't let the cams do their job as good as the RRC. I will lose mid range even with everything I'm changing but I'm pretty sure I won't be complaing when it comes on at the top
The rest of the parts from toda won't be coming till the end of the month. So that gives me time to hone the Mani and paint it in wrinkle black.
Also if anybody is interested... There is a 70mm RSP manifold and my z4 cams for sale.. The Cams are pretty much Z1 cams out of the type S DC5. No difference actually. With the RSP and cams together they made just over 163kw atw with my basic setup really.
