Dave - the glue is just Tarzan's Grip. Said it worked for fabric which it did perfectly - I clearly used too much in the pic with the clips. I will be more conservative with the glue application with the next attempts.

So a slightly more exciting update from the weekend just gone... Things are moving along now!
Bonnet prep for etch primer...
Checking for any dents that require repairs before etch priming by wetting down with prepsol. Only one small upward dint in the bootlid which was able to be pushed out.
Final stages of sanding bootlid.
Tiny low spot in bonnet was not able to be pushed up as it was behind the bonnet frame. Filled and blocked back.
Etch primer done on bonnet and boot.
Then a few coats of primer applied over that.
