Yarramundi -> Springwood lookout on Federal 595 RS-R tyres is a massive wake-up as to how much fun these cars are. The smell of hot rubber afterwards is even more exhilarating.

Having had to replace the Federals once this year, it's expensive, but worth it

DC2R got new oil and filter this afternoon... i wasn't sure when the last time the oil had been changed and also going to an open day yesterday at Wakefield means time for a service anyways.

Motul oil, Hamp oil filter and new sump plug thanks to JDMYard ( shameless plug )

Man having a hoist makes things so much easier ...

Oil was blacker then the car.

Old Hamp oil off and new one ready to go on !

Up top there was nothing really to do, but just double check everything . I had a couple of offs at wakefield so I thought I'd just double check the air filter and blow it out for good measure .

      BAM! lucky thing I checked!

This seal came off from the bottom of the air box, since the DC2R doesn't have the rest of the the intake system this seal is more restrictor then anything. Free power. errr yes please!

      Done!

PS. In car footage from wakefield coming up. I just gotta find sometime to cut it up and shorten it and upload it.

its a great car on the track. turn-in is crisp and sharp. the rear end feel a little numb/ lifeless, compared to a rwd car , but the chassis is a beautiful thing and makes up for it.

at the track the suspension is a little on the soft side for high speed stuff but through the hill/ twisties i think it perfect since your not driving it at ten tenths.

JLDC2RS Update brought to you by JDMYARD

                      MUGEN!!!!

So work ( JDMYARD ) had a set of Mugen Shocks and a set of RSR lowering progressive springs stashed away collecting dust and thought I could make good use of them . Hell yeah! Love the way the car sits now. Not too low that I’m scraping and just enough to make it handle better. On the way home the car feels more responsive, and the body roll has halved. I can’t wait to drive it on the limit and see how it feels at a race track.

For shits and giggles we put on a blue set of Buddyclub P1 SF 15×8 wrapped in Semi-slicks. Love the fat rubber square look. But all the car was doing was scrubbing and for it to work, the front needs at least a slight guard roll and the inner splash guards removed, some negative camber wouldn’t hurt as well. For now its back to stockies and Ku31s

So i was hoping to make one more track day before the end of the year, but after speaking to work's mechanic; I've been advised to not go or risk blowing the gearbox and a hefty 2k rebuild . So yeah... LAME!

On a better note . i did manage to take the DC2R for a run through natio, since installing the mugen suspension. Man this car just keeps getting better. turn-in is crisp and sharp, so much, that i've been forced to slow down and smooth out my steering inputs even more to keep the car as balanced as possible. any quick jolts equates to lots of weight transfered upfront and the rear-end getting light and loose.

Ride is at the edge of being comfy and uncomfy and the lower ride height even tho it isn't slammed, has caught me out on several parking occasions. Those damn parking kerbs. Poor front lip, it hates me .
