That AW11 needs some love. Great little cars, I remember seeing one at an '80s motor show next to a Bertone X19.

So no real update on the DC2R ..
BUTTTTT.... (below got posted on Monday)
That’s me, pretending to be fast!
Today JDMyard debut its DC5 at Wakefield, and after a long week of building and going through the car with a spanner, I got the chance to do some hot laps in it. See the smily face the DC5 has.. yeah I felt the same after stepping out of it.
My first time in a race car and what a difference it is to a modified street car. The first thing I noticed was how revvy the engine is; it’s liner power delivery meant shifting to 8000rpm was just a joy. Turn-in is super clean and crisp; point it in the direction you want to go and rear end follows. Oh and the brakes, I kept on braking way too early, even after I thought I got it right I always still had some track left before hitting the apex. It also felt very throw-able, but, before leaving the pits the boys mentioned if you break it John, you buy it, so I didn’t exactly want find out how much. I do have to admit, I did bounce it off a couple of ripple strips ( a tiny bit). =P
I only got to do a couple of laps in it, and in between a heap of wrong gear selections, braking way too early and just generally messy laps, the car felt good and was easy to drive. It just does everything you want it to do. I cant stop smiling. This is the best car I’ve ever driven to date.
In the end before the weather turned bad, JDMyard got a PB of 1:07.98, driven by super nice, super talented rally driver, Adam Casmiri. It’s been a long week for all us but definitely a good one.Last edited by johnlorspecial; 30-01-13, 09:41 AM.
