Wow that's an even bigger hole than the one in my intake hose, did you feel like you were losing power?

Since the members rides section is sort of dead at the moment, I thought I might give people something to read about! So here's an update for all you folks!

So my parents have been a bit fed up that many of my spare parts/wheels are taking up too much space in the sunroom. I've always thought about making a wheel rack in the garage so they'd be happy (for a while). I had some spare lengths of slotted angle line which were starting to rust from being outside for the past five years. So with the angle line, my trusty Makita angle grinder with cutting disc, a hammer drill, some dynabolts, and some random nuts/bolts I built a rack for my spare wheels.

Zi from JDMYard randomly messaged me on Facebook again. This time he was selling the Mugen sideskirts off the DC5 (they now have the Buddyclub sideskirts). As usual I had first dibs on it, so I dropped by the shop an hour later to check them out. The sideskirts had lots of scuffs and tyre marks on them, and one side had some minor damage. They were in reasonably good condition considering all the trackdays the car has been through. We came to an agreement and I returned home with the sideskirts.
Not so clean right now but after a couple of hours with a microfiber cloth, cut and polish, and some good ol' elbow grease they'll come out pretty good!

I got home from work to see this on the desk in my room.

I dropped by Jaycar to get a couple things for the headunit install that night. Just a basic changeover relay with harness so I can bypass the "handbrake up then dvd work feature" thingy majig . I don't encourage people to do this as it is unsafe, dangerous, and possibly illegal to watch something while driving. If you are going to do a bypass, at least use a switch so if it is ever checked by the higher ups you can switch the feature back on. Took me a while to solder the harness for the headunit and relay as it's a bit of a tight space and I only had my two hands to help me.
The relay with harness:

This is a great headunit, and currently goes for around $400 on eBay! I've been looking to upgrade the headunit for a while and after seeing some other members only have good things to say about it, I knew this was the one.
More to come soon!Last edited by Shakeel; 08-07-13, 01:31 AM.
