          Thanks guys!

Bit of an update had a major service yesterday which I have been sourcing a few things for. All my uncles are mechanics and have their own workshop so I’m lucky in the way that I only have to buy parts!

          Service:

Hard Race Engine Mounts : Wow what an improvement over the stock mounts. I feel absolutely no change in vibrations from OEM and everything just feels smoother especially shifting. Also discovered the top left OEM mount was completely split so they needed to be replaced anyway especially with all the extra Kw's

Royal Purple 5W30: Pricey but definitely worth the money in my opinion

K&N Oil Filter: Same as above

NGK Iridium Spark Plugs: Again pricey at $25 a plug, but hey there spark plugs that will last the whole time of me owning the car and they create a greater spark, more efficient etc. The old plugs look like they hadn’t been changed for a long time and were worn out.

AMSoil Synchromesh Gearbox Fluid: $50 for two quarts. I mainly sourced this out as I have heard very good responses with the DC5 Gearboxes and this MTF with many users stating it eases the issues with 2nd gear when cold. I have only driven it one day since and i can already feel a better response with 2nd gear and improvement in overall smoothness and I’m sure it will improve the more i drive it.

After seeing the car on the hoist, I realised the camber wear on the rear tyres was on steel belts (Rotated from front). So after my uncles work shop i took it to my mates work shop at Prestige Tyre and Auto in Marrickville who always looks after me for Tyres. I bought two Achilles tyres and put them on the front and rotated the other ones to the back.

Few pics of it in the workshop:

Two issues that still need fixing:

I have noticed with the New Engine Mounts, my exhaust has alot of movement and is frequently hitting the cross bar underneath the car when making turns or on bumpy roads etc. It always did that but was barely noticeable with the OEM mounts. Now since everything is more stiff, im guessing they are moving much more than before. I need to take it an exhaust shop to get it rewelded in place so there is no movement.

One of my H.I.D lights is out ...... My uncle only moved the HID battery when he was putting in the top mount and now it’s not working. I quickly checked the wiring last night and everything seemed fine. As much as i love the look of these i hate them with a passion. With my old DC4 integra had countless issues with these bloody things not working on one side and now the problem has returned. Very frustrated that i do not know the issue or how to fix it. One light out compeltely ruins the car for me when driving at night

Next month im looking at buying a Mishimoto Radiator and new hoses to ensure reliability. Can you guys please advise me if i need to take of the front bar when installing this radiator? If so, i may leave it as i don’t feel comfortable removing the front bar.

          Cheers guys!
