yeah, any commercial or RTA "weighbridge"...

(but not a heavy vehicle checking station - event though i have done it there before, LOL!)

but it is about 15-20 bucks...

well, round 4 has been run at Oran Park on Sunday,

with a very cold start to the day with a evil sou-wester blowing the cold air from the snow...

so the day was slow to get fast, with most drivers complaining of grip issues and traction unpredictability initially...

after lunch that all changed, with grip up and confidence growing the times began to drop...

i ended up with a very respectable 1:24.26 in the second last session, backed up by a 1:24.58 in the last session (whilst being chased by BlackDC2)...

i was very happy, as i was aiming for 1:25's, so i was thrilled with the low 1:24

i will have pics of my car, with a few shots of me going backwards into mud at around 100km/h, to post up later...

the next round is at Oran Park again on the 30th of July...

if you look closely, the car that did the 1:16 had a 6000cc engine... so i came 1st in my class he was just in the wrong class...

he was in a Supra sports sedan that actually did FTD... class 4D entrant

CAMS L2S = $89 too easy!

Who is coming to Eastern Creek in August?

Does anybody have the regs available? Just wondering what is allowed under the stock 1800cc class (ie tyres etc).

JCE - there is the 1601cc -2000cc class,

there are 3 classes:

Type 1. Unmodified Production Cars (excluding those vehicles referred to inType SV), where the only freedoms relate to safety, engine reconditioning, tyres and some cosmetic items

Type 2. Modified Road-Registered Vehicles (excluding those vehicles referred to in Type SV), allowing originally available options and limited modifications to engines, suspension and tyres.

Type 3. Competition vehicles based on 3J Club Cars rules as defined in the
CAMS Manual. Minor additional freedoms are allowed to recognise that there will be some road-registered vehicles competing, that cannot meet full 3J rules.

Well round 5 at the Oran Park Grand Prix circuit has been run, and the times are finally out.

It was a pretty nice day for racing, and I think that is what caused so many guys to go so hard so early – leading to many spin-offs that created so many stoppages in the morning, the worst was the guy who blew his engine on the main straight – leaving a 100m long oil slick down the centre of turn 1.

Once this was cleared up we got some clean runs in with BlackDC2 nailing a 1.22:75 lap with me following well over a second away at 1.24:15. In his Civic, e240 had never been on the GP circuit before, so he was just getting used to it, but still managed a 1.26 best time… OZ#227 just got new coil-overs installed so I think he was still getting used to them and had a fairly average day…

there was another oil down after the third session, and I was not too keen on risking it, as it was on a corner before the concrete wall. i was conscience of the fact we only had a week until the next round (no time for repairs!), and the fact i had bagged a quick 1.24 and knowing that to beat Jase's 1.22 i would have to be driving pretty hard!

So Jase took out 1st in the 3B class, followed by me in 2nd.

Looking forwards to this weekend when we are back at Eastern Creek for round 7 of the Championship, I hope to see some 1.54’s seconds, but I reckon Jase will get down to 1.53’s the way he is driving!

I've checked the regs for Type 2, you can run with an After market intake...No restrictions! yay
