It was actually a very nice day for driving...hahah...

Yeah, First the bolts on the Power Steering worked themselves loose.
This was easily fixed. On the next outing, the alternator bolts worked loosed.

Thanks to John who actually had the sense of mind to bring assorted bolts (Thanks Man, Owe you one). So under the car it was with spanners and got that fixed in time to take the last few runs.

The lesson learnt is always check and re-check your bolts and nuts. These things tend to vibrate loose especially when the engine is at the limits and "vibrating" hard.

Anyway, I just couldn't find the grip especially on the rear. I guess thats one of the risks of running old used tyres, but hey, there will be another day.

    Will load vids later.

great to hear you got under 1:17!

John (OZ#227) in the red ITR smashed his PB too,

i also smashed my PB - got 1:12.25

i think Leo (E240) might have been struggling with distractions most of the day (why wont my belts stay on!) to attack his.

was fantastic to see Keiren out there (05dc5S) getting some lovely sounds down the main straight it looked HOT as too!

it was an awesome day to lose my track virginity... perfect weather and I managed to get 8 runs... could have had 9 but i ran out of petrol. ><

I improved my laptime from 1:39 on my first ever lap to a best of 1:19 lol still heaps of room for improvement ofcourse.

Brakes and tires held up well though my AD07's started getting a lil mushy towards the end..

Quite a few Honda's there too, didn't realise there were a few from here!

Great time guys, a real shame I missed out.

My work decided to have its annual building power shutdown over the weekend.

                  Very Very Nice John!!! Congrats!

I've been thinking and thinking why my tyres felt so slick throughout the day. Because they're old, I treated them with some "Tyre treatment" thingy the day before, which was supposed to soften the tyre. I'm not sure if thats the cause though but it was the 1st time I used this stuff on tyres. Thinking back, it was uncanny...I was locking up the fronts even at my usual braking markers and my rear was just "ice-skating" around almost every turn. Hmmm...

Thankx guys, But can that be right? 1:13.65 WOW.
I kept chasing tyre pressures all day, with the sun coming and going. So was the grip, big leaning curve. I also softened the rear C/O for the last 2 runs. I was flying by the end.
Doing the top loop, with the back steping out just the slightest bit, flat in third. Which meant I didn't have the turn that little bit as you head down-hill again. Then slam 4th just before the next ripple strip.
                                It felt fast & I could see I was catching Rob.....but 1:13.65 Unreal !
