The FD2R was recently smashed by the Euro entrants in the BMI challenge which featured the Golf and Scirocco R. I think it had it's run as a street FWD performance car. In race mtrim I think they're a much more menacing prospect.
That's the thing. Looks are subjective. Chassis development and handling prowess are universally critiqued with similar results. If this was a beauty contest I wouldn't have even mentioned the Megane, Clio and Focus. Although in it's twilight the Megane is growing on me, especially the F1.
I don't know about this whole "rewarding" mallarky. An engine must perform in a smooth and effortless way providing immediate response for the driver, good power and torque and balance well with the chassis. I love the K20, but I find the L98 in my SS a better engine in every way. Only if I take the SS to the track could I be convinced the K20 is a more rewarding engine to drive. I can't wait to get the god awful AUDM K20 out of the Honda. It's gutless and even in my stripped out DC5 feels way too underpowered for the rest of the car.
