      a little bit of everything I guess, superkhana, AMR SES, done a few AHG autotest. Most often probably No Limits Barbagello track night.

      Only barbagello events have warm up lap, and even that is pretty short.

            I tried that, it made it worse! no biggy though, I swapped to Toyo R888 awhile ago, these work great from cold, although the peak grip is not as good as RE55S.

            I was just curious to see if you guys here get a lot of warm up time with RE55S, that's the only gripe I have with these tires, cause I think they're apalling from cold.

              The Re55s tends to like abit more pressure then R888. To get the rear temps up faster run 2psi more then normal.

                No we don't.

                Not for Supersprints anyway, you have to go hard from the get go.

                Sometimes, you have to go hard enough to get the heat into the tyres, beyond your comfort zone for cold tyres. Pottering around hoping to get heat doesn't always work. I know its like "but there's no grip"...unfortunately, thats the way it is.

                  Hence the reason why I will never understand people running RE55s on the street. They are dangerous at low temps and have very little wet weather grip unless at operating temp which requires driving very fast.

                      I'm going to complain when I get back into my car. I've been rolling in comfort for too long. I was working that car really hard at WP. Because it's a little heavier you can make up valuable time trail braking into the slower corners. Turn in normally isn't as nimble as a DC5 obviously. Corner exit was a struggle to get power down with over 400nm @ 1,800rpm and street tyres. They're great fun for the track but nowhere near the drive of a DC2 or DC5 for track use. They are however a squillion times more comfortable than either of those.

                      Can you PM me your number mate? I'm planning some Feb shakedowns if you wanna head to WP together for some testing.

                          Yes i agree, the Re55s are abit harder to heat up. But once they heat up, they are really good tyres. Having said that, the R888 a cheaper form of semi slicks and have been a great tyre to use as well. We have gone quicker with these tyres compare to the RE55s.

                          I personally wouldnt use the Re55s for sprints. We are now trying the Khumo's V700 at the next track day. Should be interesting to compare.

                            cool, I agree with that, I've just used up my R888 and I found them faster for my events. I am now trying Dunlop D03G, that should also be interesting to compare.

                              I just finish my set of RE55S....they are great tyres but as most of the other said you will struggle with grip when they are cold and hard to get temp on rear........let me know hows the D03G goes.......coz I am considering try them for my next set......

                                i am running re55s on my daily and i dont find them to have dangerously low levels of grip when cold. there was a Motor magazine tyre test with some braking distances etc in dry and wet and i dont think s-tyres performed as badly as people would have you beleive.
                                having said that if it is a really wet and slick surface there is much more chance of aquaplaning..

                                of course for the first few minutes of driving with s-tyres and brake pads designed for street/circuit application you have to be mindful of worse-than-standard levels of grip/braking, but this is still a lot better than a 10year old commondoor on worn nankangs (ie 90% of the cars around you)
