I think Dave is suggesting boring out the stock TB.

I would recommend a larger TB if you were doing internal work.

I had a Larger TB on a stock engine and even though it had a bit of lag at the bottom end it wasnt enough to complain about.

Top end felt much more better.

Horse power is how fast you hit the wall, torque is how far you take the wall with you."

He mentioned he will be using Toda Spec C cams. Yet he complains that an enlarged TB will screw with driving daily.

mate i have done alot of research and discussions with people that know they're shit when it comes to k series engines...spec c's aren't bad fot the streets, and i do the occasional drag racing...and a big T/B does stuff up drivability (im talkin >70mm)

When you had spec C's in your DC5 - what drivability issues did you experience?

I just don't understand how a slightly bigger TB can screw with driveability more so than Toda Spec C's. On my DC2 with stock engine larger 70mm TB didn't screw with driveability. Low down response.. OK slightly, but improved everything throughout the rev range. I've been in a DC5R with JUN cams (which are speced inbetween Spec B and C), and stock TB, and from this experience I have made my assumption that a TB can't make drivabilitiy on the street worst than having aftermarket cams, especially Spec C's.

was it a 70mm Spoon throttle body?

if so - it is not actually a 70mm ID throttle body, and is therefore vastly different to a true 70mm ID throttle body in terms of effect on drivability.

                      just so you know...

I relise this... but still does it make THAT much of difference compared to Spec C cams. Can't you answer my question, rather than running in circles?
