[noob q.] Stock Wheels + Aftermarket wheel nuts = is it ok?
my mechanic fuxored mine up with his rattle gun. forgot to tell them when i dropped the car off. the thread was farked to the point that when i took the nuts off to change my rotors, I couldn't even put them back on.
Yaya!! I told the guy at the tyre place today that I had aluminum nuts and that he should not use a rattle gun on them, luckily he told me that they had a torque wrench there for these types of jobs
to use tapered nuts on oem rims you could get these
i was going to buy a few but the shipping on them is scary 2 sets of 16(good to have way more than too less) was going to cost about $23US but the shipping was about $30US

anyone wanna split shipping with me? haha
not so sure about adding another point of failure to the wheels...
the only reason i can come up with is *bling* - but happy to be corrected...
Slightly reduced unsprung and reciprocating mass is all I can think of too. Not going to make much difference to the rotational inertia of the drivetrain though being so close to the centre of the wheel. A slight decrease in the overall mass of the car too .
I dont think any of these effects would be noticable for people like us .
