I have the exact combo Dave put together there, that being :-

Mugen Intake
Toda Header + Xforce Metal cat
Fujitsubo RM01A Catback

It has a nice deep note, makes a good bark in VTEC and overall isn't too obnoxious. I have a friend who has everything else stock except the Spoon N1 axleback muffler and his car is far more droney and irritating to my ears.. haha.

I like my combo because you can still hear a nice balance of Intake + Exhaust... the combination has improved response and power right throughout the rev range. Highly recommended, especially if you daily drive your caR.

^ what he said...and especially if you plan to drive your car to QLD, you wouldn't really want to have that loud of an exhaust or a droney one either...that being said...I drove a DC2R with this setup the other weekend:

BC headers
Gruppe m intake
BC Spec 3 w/ silencer...

It's not bad with the silencer on...wasn't hurtful to the ears but it did sound funny with the silencer on....

If you consider having your ear drums molested at every single part of the rev range bar idle as nice... then yes LOL

Spec II is nice but probably too loud for most. Spec III is a nice balance in my opinion. Probably the best advice at this point is to be patient and wait until the next meet in Sydney and talk to the other clubITR kids and check out thier mods to get an idea of what you like.

However if you like louuuud and and want the greatest exhaust known to human kind Amuse R1000 is nice.

I heard that you spot Felix quite a bit on the road...he has BC headers & Spec 3 so maybe you can meet up with him and get him to take you for a short ride to test it out??

just take ur Air box cover off and you can enjoy the noise while u get used to your new car...... ;-)

then when u find the excitement "spark" has gone and it doesnt seem fast anymore, invest in the mod's.....

and dont let these guys fool you, most of them have stripped and rebuilt and mod'd and swapped and reswapped part on their cars for years, so their advice would be just as good if not better (non profit) than most mechanic's out there..... my 2 cents....

also not every mod may make your car react like someone elses, i have met a few itr owners with 1 or 2 mod's who hadnt made much gain at all and were devastated..



p.s. why on earth was your dc2r lowered, mine is bad enough at stock, and my lower front Spoiler (kit) has serious war wounds......

Air box cover is already off
i bought it lowered has some bad stratch marks on it from all the scraping!
