btw another point that i think i should bring up is when do you actually need to upgrade to a HD clutch? Would it be worth it to just get a lightened flywheel if not much major performance modification have been made to the car. And i guess the stock clutch can probably handle street driving if improve the responsiveness of the car is what i m after?

I'm looking for new clutch at the moment. I have GruppeM intake/ Trust TiC Catback/ Mugen N1 ECU for my performance parts on my dc5R.
I'm thinking of getting exedy clutch since their prices seem more reasonable over others, i want to get flywheel as well since the labour for it is not too much difference.
What's a good clutch+flywheel recommendation for me? It is mainly for street use with occasional track days once every 2-3months. How do you tell what's good and bad about a clutch, such as organic, ceramic, stage 1, 2 etc etc. What does it all mean?'03 Integra DC5 Type R

there are 3 major parts to a clutch (4 if you count the throw-out bearing)
- flywheel
- friction disc
- pressure plate
the friction disk is made of (or covered in) organic or ceramic material, which is what sits between teh pressure plate and the flywheel.
the pressure plate and flywheel are usually steel. and the job of the pressure plate is to clamp or force teh friction disk onto teh flywheel when you release the clutch pedal...
organic material is more user friendly, ceramic material allows quicker shifting but harsher and is more liable to suffer from heat abuse.
for a road car, an organic "Heavy duty" clutch is perfect.
for a more dedicated circuit racing car, a ceramic firction disc *might* provide better performance if treated correctly...

THANKS!!! FOR THE INFO really helped
I searched up exedy rsx on ebay. None of the kits have heavy duty on them, how do you decide which are heavy duty and what's not?
Exedy Racing Stage 1 consist of the organic material you talked about, and stage 2 has the ceramics. So i think i will take the stage 1 over the stage 2. Even tho it is only stage 1, it will be a better upgrade than stock, right?
I also want a flywheel to go with it since i'll be changing the clutch anyway, does anyone the weight of the stock AUDM dc5R flywheel? so i can compare to some of the exedy's one offer. THANKS

ORC clutch are loud... but they have a silent type which is suppose to be "silent"... but infact its just just quieter... still makes some noise tho... padestrians will definitely hear it when u have ur clutch in...
so i take it that it's 'normal'?
gosh i have pple telling me its the bearing on the gearbox...???
