Is redline MTL fine to use in a K-Series box ??
Or would it b better to get redline super lightweight ??
Redline light weight shockproof is better on street over the superlight weight.
Personally I have used redline light weight shockproof and didn't like it much. Its good for a little while but then the gear box loses the smooth shifting feel.
I use Honda 06mtf and I think it works well (and cheaper). Just change it regularly.

I would be wary of the lightweight shockproof Redline oils. Mugsee has used the Redline MTL with good results, refer to this post LINK. It is the correct viscosity for a K20 transmission.

I beg to differ.
I have used the Redline lightweight shockproof for 4+ services now and would highly recommend it. This oil just keeps on going even after track days!
I am currently using the Redline MTL where initially it was beautiful on the street but after one track day it totally changes.
I would be wary of the super lightweight shockproof though.

If you look through this thread you will find opinions for and against the Redline shockproof range of gearbox oils. I just advised the fellow to be wary, he can take your advice and put weird blue stuff in his gearbox if he wants .

LOL, yes, i have been using it in my box for 3 years (since 2007).
i am going to finally change it when i put my new engine in...
the KEY i think to using it is to have a dry 'box, not to let it mix with ANY other oil.
i think people might just drain their gearbox, then add this blue stuff, then run into issues... i.e. they leave 100ml or so of old MTF (or whatever) that does not mix well with the blue stuff...
(NB - i do NOT recommend not changing your gearbox oil for 3 years!!!)
i put the rendline MT90 into my gearbox, but most of the time is pretty hard to shift to 2nd gear, just wondering is MT90 fine for the DC5R gearbox and LSD
