    New Potenza Tyre - RE001

    Bridgestone Potenza Adrenaline RE001

Been a while since Bridgestone has released a new tyre....

Looks a little like a cross between a RE-01R & RE070 - Very interesting indeed! I've had the RE070s and they are awesome... RE-01Rs are the flagship tyre in Japan too!

Has a wider tread contact area than S03 & GIII (sounds similar to RE070)

Cant wait to hear what it's like... Seems to be quite good looking at the performance videos of it...

BUT - 'Some sizes in the Bridgestone Potenza Adrenalin RE001 range will be manufactured at Bridgestone's Salisbury facility in South Australia with the balance of the product being produced in Japan' er.... let's hope the 235/45/17 is made in Japan... *fingers crossed*

2 ways of looking at it -

          a) very cheap for good tyres
          b) priced at their performance level - ie RE050 is still better in terms of outright performance.

Will have to wait and see where Bridgestone places them in the hierachy of tyres.

                what an awsome website
but if they are manufactured in SA then shouldn't it mean it will be "cheap"

looks interetsing, especially at the sort of prices listed above.
be good to see some reviews.

I have been been quoted $174 for 195/55/15. I checked them out at a bridgestone dealer and I like the amount of rubber on the shoulder.

                          Hey FunkyR,

You got any source to back up your point that RE050 is still better then the RE001 in terms of outright performance?

                          Thanks

it is based on the pricing levels.

obviously you wouldn't price your highest performance tyre below another that doesn't perform as great, regardless of how new.

its like honda saying: "let's price our S2000 more expensive than our NSX"

                            thats my interpretation.

Nope, just an observation of the prices. Waiting for Bridgestone Australia to place it on their product listing to see where they rank the tyre.
