2000 ITR - Limited Race Edition

    Hi,

Hi new to this forum so please be gentle on me.

Have just bought a 2000 ITR in white that came with a back story of being one of 12 prepared by Honda for a same car race event. The car was apparently never raced and sold via the dealer network (Lark Hoskins).

Car came with a letter from the then Japanese Australian president confirming as such including the VIN and engine which matches the vehicle.

The car is in reasonably good condition. Few minor body issues and normal wear & tear for a 15 year old car. Mechanicals are excellent.

Wondering if anyone knows more about these cars and if anyone else has one and can shed some light on the mods Honda made.

    Thanks in advance.

Can you clarify if it is a DC2R or a DC5R?

If the latter, it could possibly be this:

        ^ It's a DC2R, I remember seeing the ad for it online
        00' DC2 Honda Integra Type R | NH592P | DC2R
        13' ZN6 Toyota 86 GT | D4S | CNN-66E
        15' ZN6 Subaru WRX STI Premium | CBS | EBU-36R

          Build date of August '00 - DCR2

          Has had the following factory mods for the race series ;
          1. Mugen intake
          2. Mugen Exhaust
          3. Mugen baffled sump
          4. Changed gearbox ratio's
          5. Black Recaro's
          6. Lighter flywheel
          7. Bonnet Pins
          8. External battery kill switch
          9. Aggressive engine tune
          10. Thicker rear anti-sway
          11. Firmer springs
          12. Sound system removed
          13. All sound deadening removed

It's been on a weight reduction diet.

I had one as new in '00 for 12 months but this one goes a lot harder, lot noisier and handles better. Goes like a cut snake.

Not so sure the limited edition referred to in the suggested article is in reference to this particular vehicle.

I'll put some pics up tonight to see if that helps.

I wonder what dumbcunts in the past have acquired said rarity and parted it out etc!

Sounds like an awesome turn key track car from the factory!

From memory there were 3 CW cars in the race, and one of them was the race winner - driver was Marcos Ambrose.

EDIT: Your car may have been the race winner, from Larke Hoskins Honda: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_UkCSLR8ieY

What an awesome race with a young Marcos Ambrose! Thanks for sharing. That race and footage still looks very modern for something that occurred 15 years ago

nadhome, pretty cool if your car was the one Ambrose drove

I think a similar race was held somewhere in Europe. Tiff Needell made a mention about a one make race during his review of the DC2R in a 1998 episode of Top Gear.

Here's some pics including a copy of the compliance plate and the letter from Honda. Will post more when I get a chance.

Finally dug up some detail on the car from 2010 on this forum.

                          This thread is about the car ;

                          http://forum.clubitr.com.au/showthre...-bit-of-trivia

                          Anyway ..

It's off to Garage88 next week to get a major service and mechanicals checked. Following week off to a body shop to clean up some minor issues with the radiator holder.

Front windscreen looks like it's been replaced without the Honda moulds. So I'll need to track this down as well & replace the glass too with a genuine one.

Apart from that it's in pretty good condition and will be trying to keep it to original spec as modified by Honda.

Such a nice car, I assume it was the one for sale on Carsales a few weeks ago.

                            A true collectors car!
