    Good Alarm system

    Guys,
I'm looking to get a new alarm system installed.
So wondering what is the 'top of the range' product out there for car security.

I'll be going around looking for quotes next week, as I finish my exams then.

you have to stand close to it cos most after market alarm are like that, so that ppl can't hide around your car to get the code to unlock it.....which is also why most aftermarket alarm have code hopping

              Mmmm is that true noodleman?

Maybe that's why I have to do the same like JSL to open my car .

So basically, if you can open your car from far away it is not a good alarm system?

it's just a feature....there are fob learning device...so if im hiding near your car....with this fob learning device, when you press your fob to unlock your car i press mine...and there i got the code and now my fob can unlock your car and later come back and steal stuff.

code hopping changes it's code every time you arm/disarm your alarm to prevent this to happen.

which state are you in ?

Personally you should not be getting quotes to get an alarm. You should be quizzing installers to see how they will install the alarm.

If the alarm brain isnt hidden the alarm can be overridden.

If your really serious and your in Sydney I can do a stealth alarm install for you, but only on DC2's, or I can walk you through doing it yourself.

There is no point in getting an alarm that is tossed under the dash, if you can find the brain by popping ur head under the dash. A thief can take ur car in under 2 mins.

If your in brisbane go to audioexpress to get it done. He is the only guy i know in Aus who does stealth installs.

                  btw. Your alarm should have
                  1. Glass break sensor
                  2. Tilt sensor

The other sensors are garbage so dont bother with them.

Do not get brant, go to a subaru forum and see how 95% of owners have problems with them. Mongoose or Rhino the rest are shit
I can't stress how important it is to have a stealth install done. If you spend 500bucks and the alarm can be found then you have wasted your money.

I wasted $550 on a shit install performed by a shop in liverpool, alarm was simply tossed under the dash. Would never reccomend that place.

there nothing wrong with brant the problem with the brant in subaru is the keypad if for any reason you lose power the keypad lock itself and you need a master pin to unlock it.. and it is in the older verson.. i have yet to hear any problems with the current system.. and sif you use a keypad pin..

brant is still classified as one of the best alarms out there..

If you want to ensure that your Insurance company will give you a reduction on your premium, the alarm needs to conform to Australian Standards.

The Brant systems are, my old Flashpoint system was standards approved as well.

                          Here is a quick link : http://www.openroad.com.au/inthemarket_carsecurity.asp

There was a website that had a list of all standards approved immobilisers/alarms sold in Australia, but I cant find it anymore.

Brant is rumored to be bankrupt and no longer in business.

Every subaru owner i know has had problems with theres, doesn't matter what year model. My cousin with his 05 WRX has constant problems.

If you want a stealth install done I can do them, but only in sydney. And it may take two full days to complete.

I can get a DC2 or EK done in a day but a DC5 i have never done before.

It's a lot easier than you think to do a stealth install once u pull apart the interior. much harder to do under the dash no matter how much u pull it apart.
