Well I'm sure someone will hear it by then as well and wonder why a guy is under you dash with ear muffs on?

not really. the loudness doubles every 10dB (approx)

I hate to break it to you Xzbit but any self respecting thief will pop your hood, disconnect the battery, rip out the battery backup siren.

And then proceed to work under the car without a deafening piezo siren blaring in there ear.

and what's to stop them doing the same to the stealth alarm? and then proceeding to put you car on the back of a tow truck? it all depends on how deparate they want your car! If someone wants your car, they'll take it. Wouldn't it me much easier to break in your house and take your keys and therefore by-passes having to deal with your alarm altogether?

90% of thieves aren't looking to take you car, they mostly look to take sutff from you car like cash and bits and pieces!

Its only ever going to act as a deterant, so that if you have two cars parked next to each other and one has an alarm and one doesn't, which one are they more likely to try and enter?

the only reason i have an alarm is so i can be insured by Shannons...

if they think it will help lower my *risk*, i guess it must?

                      ah kha (eddie murphy voice)

It's called a battery back-up. supplies power to the alarm when the main battery is disconnected.

Don't worry i have researched my shit, just depends on how much you want to spend and how anal you are.

im extremely anal and have made a hobby out of car security

Guys, an alarm is just a deterrrant. Not a prevention device.

can anyone recommend some good installers in sydney?
and an approx price for the alarm that you got from there as well as features.

There are none, you need to go to melbourne or Brisbane for a good installer.

get yourself a rhino ram. dont bother to hide it. Mount a video camera somewhere in your car too. when some fucker breaks into your car and you get a SMS, go beat the living shit out of them and youtube it. I think that's the best deterrent.
