hmm, yeh when i mocked mine up in the same spot as yours there was a lot of slack and things in the way of the harness. Ill try again in the next couple of days and take a pic if it fails again to show you exactly what im talkinf about, i have a feeling im not explaining it well enough 
Yeh Tegiwa does make replica stuff, for our cars though you have the option of NRG, Tegiwa (stanless steel vs mild steel for NRG) and Sparco (~$600) for out of the box. For me my shoulders are higher then the shoulder holes in the seat so id imagine it would put more pressure on my back not having one, hard decision in terms of safety.....

If you go ahead with the harness bar let me know. I rarely carry more than 1 passenger in my car (hence the lack of rear seats) so wouldn't mind getting one.
. Just for those playing at home if you mount the rear straps of a harness to the rear seat belt holes with the stock SR4 then the angle they form to horizontal is just within CAMS recommended 50° or whatever it is meant to be. Not ideal though, so I always make a habit of not crashing.
