I think the insurance company's will find any way to have a reason not to pay you out lol.Originally posted by Type S Tony View PostSimply tell them you just got the work done not to long ago, besides the addition of those modifications were not a direct factor in the accident.

Make sure you at least ring them up, i mean, when i done it, i started off like... i purchased these parts for my car, havnt installed it yt, just wanted to see how it would affect my insurance if i were to put them in, as i am considering putting them in later this afternoon, but wanted to claify with insurance first.

what they come back with? also my car is registered through the business so insurance is for business use, does this effect the premiums much?Originally posted by plAythiNG View PostMake sure you at least ring them up, i mean, when i done it, i started off like... i purchased these parts for my car, havnt installed it yt, just wanted to see how it would affect my insurance if i were to put them in, as i am considering putting them in later this afternoon, but wanted to claify with insurance first.

If you have the vehicle registered for business use you should REALLY ring your insurance company and discuss it with them if your policy is differant.
From my days as a branch teller there was a big differance between insurance for a private vehicle and a business vehicle. This was mostly due to vehicles used that had to carry tools of trade or other business related equipment. This was because if an accident/robbery happened the insurance would also cover the equipment in the car. As you aren't a "tradesman" it might be differant, but would be good to be on the safe side.
As plaything said, insurance companies well try ANYTHING to get out of paying money out to someone for an accident.

3rd party, FIRE & THEFT is the minimum I would consider if you buy a DC5R. Basically it'll cover you for the following:Originally posted by FRDK20 View PostLOL so better off 3rd party if im planning on putting mods on?
- If you cause an accident to a 3rd party (It only covers damage to the other vehicle, not your own)
- If your car is involved in a fire
- If your car is stolen
Full comp covers you for basically everything
This guy!!Originally posted by plAythiNG View Postlol, i odnt think so.. wat if your car is stolen or watever... thats 20k plus mods gone!
i would only consider 3rd aprty, if my car's value was <10K
