I hope this is a joke between good friends, Otherwise I suggest BAN!

This site needs people to share their bad news, as well as good. Or this site would only be half as good. Small-minded comments like that don't help!
If the failure was due to Build, it wouldn't have last 1 day at the track. Jase has set class records....blah, blah... Personally, I don't think you have a case.

Like I said, I'm hoping this was a joke.

                      ouch! sorry to see that.
unfortunately with n/a builds in particular it is usual to chase more power with more rpm, and we all know that more rpm = a LOT more stress on engine components..
g/l with fixing things and thanks for sharing, hopefully it can be a learning experience for us all..

Rod bolt failures such as this are cause by metal fatigue.
This fatigue is induced by one or more over rpm incidents during the engine’s life.
The easiest & most common cause is an over rev on the down shift.
It’s induced by down gearing too soon & the over rev is pushed beyond the limiter by the speed & gearing of the vehicle.
It’s not something any driver strives achieves but it is the single most common cause of rod bolt failure in circuit engines.
(This is why no one gives warranty on track engines)
The sinister part about fatigue related failures is they may not occur immediately after the over rpm incident. It may take a little longer for the catastrophic failure to occur, but the damaged was done when the fatigue was induced.
Tink pretty much summed it up as to when & why it happened in Jason’s case
& as said by Danga – shit happens

                            Regarding build error,
When the cause of the engine failure is build error, the engines will generally fail very early in its life. That is within the 1st thousand km & most certainly on its 1st track event.
