    Me Want Type R!

    hehe! Hi Guys,

I am looking at getting myself a type R... but i pretty much know nothing about them besides the fact they look awesome and are reccomended by a few friends.

    What i know i want:

probably a late 90's model for the price i am budgeting for what will probably be the first of many for me... i have $15-18k to spend.

no JDM front- i love the round headlights

and of course the required body kit and mags hehe!

Besides that, the world is my oyster, and good ol' Ed told me that you fella's would look after me and point me in the right direction.

there are a couple on carsales that i like the look of- predominantly this one:

I welcome all the information i can get!

    Cheers

If you get that one, I hope it comes with the original kit so you can convert it back to normal. Though it has yellow recaros which are rare.

Goodluck with the search but with the price range you have, it will be hard to find a good one or it will have high Kms on it or in not so good condition

      Firstly, welcome!

Secondly I think you'll find that sort of modification to a Type R doesn't really attract many positive comments from most of the members of this forum...

      FYI, DC2 Type R ran from '99-'01.

IMO if you want to do that to an Integra please choose a lower spec model as a starting point....

                Hey Ryan,

My friend owns that car, unfortunately he bought the car like that and he doesnt have any of the standard parts that come with the car. But i know he takes good care of the car. I've never seen in vtec before but thats just me :P It would be a good buy if the car was stock tho but thats my 2cents. I just prefer stock

well... for the most part, your replies would have all been greatly recieved... if i asked for abuse of a car i know nothing about and was using as an example..

If you plan on just flaming me or the car i showed as one i had seen and thought LOOKED ok, please dont bother.

HOWEVER, if you would like to HELP me to learn about the type R, and help me find a car to suit me, then i would really like to hear your point of view.

Thanks for those of you who ACTUALLY attempted to help me out. Much appreciated.

yeah sorry for ripping the thread to s**ts dude.

Ummm... there are 3 types of DC2 Integra.

                          *GSI - NON-VTEC (SLOW) - lowest model

                          *VTi-R - VTEC (model below Type R)

*Type R - VTEC, recaros, different styling, suspension set-up, larger wing, weight reduction, better internals, LSD etc etc

It's just that DC2 Type R were limited to 500 cars. So when I see people making them show cars, it really annoys me. The Type R was built for the track, and as a performance car. When people put larger, heavier wheels on (chromes), and weird shaped body kits... IMHO I think it ruins what the Type R stands for--which is probably one of the best cars that Honda has ever made, and will ever make.

You will get more pleasure from the car driving it the way it was meant to be driven than slapping a body kit on it with some big chromies

Realistically I dont think 15-18k would get you a good example, if one at all.
I reckon for your budget, this would be a much better buy if it's still available.
