    DC5R roll cage

Hey boys I'm thinking about a cusco half cage for about $1000 any other great brands or cheaper.

    Cheers,
    Matt.

Do you actually intend to use it on the track (ie cams registered).

You'll attract more attention if cops look into your car and see bars going across your windows.

This explains the regulations regarding roll cages by VICROADS here in Victoria, am guessing be very similar to N.S.W regulations....

Not hard to get a roll cage passed for a RWC. Just make sure it's padded if your going to use it on the street.
Also Cusco Cages apparently don't pass CAMS regulation due to the material there made out of.. that's what i last heard anyway? Someone can correct me if im wrong though

In terms of bling it's all really personal preference. Cusco will probably be the easiest to get and bolt in.

if you remove the rear seats you actually make your car unroadworthy..

From what I know regarding half cages, they are legal for road if the car is registered as a two seater and does not pass the b-pillar. Not sure on CAMS. Full cage is possibly to be registered for on road purposes but I'd say that the engineering aspect would be quite detail.

My car will be registered as a two seater and engineered with a auto power half cage at the back. According to my engineer it will pass with the modification permit.

Exactly what has to be done as you said Norm..
It just snowballs with technical and safety issues once you decide to put a roll cage in a street registered car..

It's not the material it's made out of, it's due to the diameter of the tubing + the "through dash" design. No issues with the cage being chromoly.
