To have an extremely quick reliable K20 N/A, if you have no intentions of boosting.
You need at least, just for parts, so forget tuning, labour etc etc etc
Your looking around $14,000-$18,000 depending on which parts you use (brand), Also based on the AUD at the time & where you source them from.

Your going to spend 3-6k on a K20, if i was you, i'd find something run down, something cheap cause your going to be replacing every single part to gain every single KW out of the car. I suggest you find an Engine builder to speak to him/her about your goals, no point asking here because people are going to suggest this and that. Stick to what's proven to make results and work out what you wanna do.
Are you intending to make this happy very quickly or is it going to slowly over 1-2-3-4-5 years?

By the way, biggest key to gaining the most KW's out of your motor is the specification of what FUEL you'll use because at the end of the day that's where it all begins.

so it HAS to be a B18C build...

because otherwise it is not really a Type R...

and is re-sleeving 'allowed' - i don't think ii should be...

you must make the most power using original block and original head - all other parts are free... (i.e. you can change the crank, but must retain the OEM bore & stroke)

and it must retain VTEC and must NOT be turbo charged or supercharged or use NO2

and it must run on 98 octane unleaded, to call it a 'street' car...

here is some things to think about:

yeah bro if i could make more than 160kw that would be awesome kinda defeats the purpose of the build if the goal is to build a dc2r b18c more powerfull than the best one in aus so yes a good question is who has the most kW Dc2R b18c in aus ???? anybody know ??
