i dont think you will need to get a blue slip. just a rwc (pink slip is enough) to get it rego'ed or if you really need a blue slip find a mechanic friend and have them help you out.

on the note of recaros, if you change the seats in the dc5s it is a defect because there are airbags in the seats so once you take them out the airbag light will be on all the time and if you get pulled over you will be defected. this is what stopped my friend from getting recaros for his 5s.

Regarding type r vs type s.

The way i see it is, type s is more expensive to get power, the cost of kpro is pretty much double incomparison to a dc5r owner buying kpro.

Imo the type s is the better buy.

I love the white cluster of the type s.
I dislike the silver lined rings on the aircon vents in the prefacelift
I prefer the type s center console; extra cupholder, discreet tray slider compartment and side pocket where handbrake is.

To make a type s more like a type r?

      Get recaro's
      Get type r wing
Delete some sound deadening to have it same weight.

Id rather do those three things above as its cheaper then sourcing facelifted front ad rear bars, side skirts and head and tail lights $$$$$$$$$.

Plus with type s you have

      Mp3/6 cd stacker from factory
      Sunroof
      Slight more power fromfsctory.
      Integra Type R
      Integra Type S
      S2000

Those rings were a dealer fitted option, most don't have them.

Hmmm. Well with the recaros I'm a type s if u cover the light it wouldn't be a defect right? But if a crash happens and they find out that the airbag light was on, insurance probably wouldn't cover right? Thats a pretty big down side =[..

Also, provided there's no service history but if I go ahead with a mechanic inspection and state roads inspection or whatever, and that turns out to be 100% good to go etc. Would u guys still advise against the car?

whether everyone is against or for the car. ultimately the decision comes down to you, if you like the feel and it drives great to you, get it on the price you are happy with. if you dont like it, walk away there will be others to look for. you dont wanna get a car and end up regretting your decision.

I've heard things that this has been rear ended badly. I aint too sure though, but the previous owner did have some kind of build diary about his DC5's on Ozhonda I think. Can't remember.

Hey guys I'm also after a DC5R and would it be better to get a RACV person to inspect it or go to a honda specialist like Revzone?

Highly recommend a tuner shop to inspect, make sure they are good and reliable. RACV/RACQ or whatever it is, I've been through them, firstly they don't know what to look for in a sports car, second they don't check properly and also some of them are inexperienced. I got one who was incompetent and clearly didn't check properly. I found out my suspension was busted, engine mounts were split and I was never told by that stupid guy. Only thing he pointed out was that the HID's needed washers ... which it doesn't.
