As it's currently Honda month on Speedhunters, I read this article about Spoon Sports. (good read)

In it, it mentions Rigid Collars.

Has anyone tried these or have read people's feedback?

Yes, I agree - rigid collars look pretty smart in work attire - just have to watchout for the end of day droop - looks crap especially when you're wearing a tie.

Thats why I use collar stiffeners, found some on ebay made of titanium...yum...

They are making it for other makes too now..

Will be interesting to hear his review on them too. Its just something I could put on when i get my transmission stuff done as the subframe for my car has to be lower/removed to gain greater access to the drivetrain region.

Very interesting concept. I still suspect that a shifting subframe is the cause of my goofy alignment issues that I have intermittently suffered on the DC5, would love to hear the impressions of a DC5 driver after getting these fitted Norm. My only concern with that concept is that clamping on the aluminium washer section of the collar is not as ideal as clamping steel and steel due to the ductile nature of the aluminium, and these things will probably be single use like a sump plug washer.

When i went to Spoon earlier this year, they were pushing me to get these, they are apparently a big seller in Japan. I could bearly understand him, so i stayed clear.

OMG I was coming up with a similar idea to machine up to this to keep my subframe from shifting on my DC5. The damn thing keeps shifting under hard cornering causing my alignment to bounce around. Really happy to see an off the shelf product that I can just buy

Only downside to this is if there's an impact, more force would be transmitted to the chassis. Hopefully the suspension components would bend enough to allow the body to not become damaged/warped.

^ this is true. But wouldnt it be better to have vibrations or impacts distributed through the chassis, especially as theyre designed to do, rather than cause extreme stress on the bolts connecting the subframe?
