adjusted my front coilovers to the hardest setting today..weird thing is i was only able to get 28 clicks all the way. i tried going from softest - hardest and vice versa on both sides and i got the same number. Shouldnt it be 16 or 32 clicks? (adjusting inverted struts is such a pain)

a quick recap of my outing at the Shift Trackday at WP.

The extra camber and lows i added since the last trackday defintely helped as the car felt a bit more stable and wasnt running on the edge of the tyres. I started the day with 38 psi in all four tyres but dropped down to 35 psi by the end of the day which made car a bit more grippy. I took it easy on the first few sessions as i was trying to re-learn the track and the car (considering i hadnt driven it in almost a month lol). I eventually got close to my previous PB of 1:16. However I then coerced Benny (benson) into my car to help me improve. This helped dramatically. He suggested i only use 3rd and 4th for the whole lap as my heel-toe wasnt perfect and i wasnt balancing the brake while blipping the throttle. The key things i took away was to stay flat out until i reach the kink and not lift completely and brake extremely late and down to 3rd for the turn, only tap the brake slightly for turn 3 and again for turn 5 and short shift to 4th and full throttle down 7 running on the edge (almost on the gravel)..brake early for the fish hook and stay in 3rd. I was ok in with the rest of the corners..but the last corner only go down to 3rd. I will put up in-car footage of him coaching me..so u guys can see my noob driving skills.

Anways, the most important thing he said was to not worry about everyone else's laptimes as i this was how I was setting my goals and not to make excuses (ie lack of lsd and bucket seat) and just focus on improving my own driving skills.

I eventually achieved my new PB of 1:14.3. Im very sure I can improve upon this but that will have to wait till Honda nats as i wont be hitting the track again till then and pretty sure that will be my last outing as well.

The car seems to be ok but needs an alignment (might be due to my many spinouts and one off track outing )..I did have a heart in mouth moment when I accidentally stayed on after the session on the track and ended up with the group A boys. I spun out at the fish hook and was facing an evo heading straight at me..he managed to swerve away. I then received a WTF look from Jimmy in the BYP EG as he went past lol.

nice work man. I wish jimmy and benny helped me too haha! good to see u got a pb on the last lap. at least u didnt give up and still gave it ur all!

The CMS lap timer is a great app I reckon. Did u compare it to natsoft results also (sorry i didnt look at natsoft) cos i wanna see how accurate the results are as i dont know anyone else who uses CMS.

After beating ur PB Prash, did u get the urge/rush to further develop your car, and not sell it and move onto something Euro?

I was actually gonna skip the last session since I had accidentally stayed on for two sessions and therefore my car didnt get a break before my next session started but Benny suggested that I might as well make the most of the opportunity and go out one last time. This trackday was better than CC as there was hardly any traffic which allowed me to push hard and take breaks without worrying about running into someone or holding someone up.

The app was within tenths of a second of natsoft so i guess its pretty good.

In terms of the future, when i first decided to track the car, I said to myself I'd be happy if I can get within 1:15 by the time I move on. The car has had no major changes since my very first trackday apart from a change of brake pads/rotors.
Having gone from my first PB of 1:28 odd to 1:14..clearly its all about the driver ..Hence no point in further developing the car until I have the skills to match..so in terms of moving on I dont think this changes anything. I have been given a deadline by my parents anyway and they feed me and put a roof over my head so I cant complain.

Also it seems that my car wasnt perfectly ok after the trackday. It seems that the passenger side rear wheel had been scrubbing on the lower trailing arm as a result of my weak offset. I heard a noise when i was continuously turning right at the top of the hill on the track. There was a piece of aluminium shaving lodged between the wheel and the arm and this probably scraped the wheel some more. I am thinking of getting a 3mm spacer on ebay and maybe just run it for my next trackday and i dont have this problem with regular street driving..thoughts?

Also is having the aluminium exposed bad for the wheel? (since there is no longer any paint /coating). It is just the side on the inner part of the rim..otherwise ill just hand paint it with some auto store wheel paint.

I touched up the inner side of the rim and will get some 3mm spacers to solve the issue. Went to jax tyres haberfield today for a wheel alignment today and told them about the issue. They suggested toe-ing out the rear to increase the gap between the rim and the arm so went ahead with that. Attached results.

Here's some footage of the shift trackday I recently attended. This is the passenger session where I got Benny from BYP to sit in with me. You turn up the volume to hear him and sorry for the weird lighting

For those of you who have been living in a cave for the past week, The Lowdown.com organised the first proper car show in some time. I was proud to represent ClubITR along with Phil, Victor, Mark and Berty. The day was awesome with Victor running his own catering stand on the side and CFH ITR winning people choice's thanks to the massive ClubITR support along with Berty's campaigning with his models

Everyone seemed to have lowered their car for the day and added spacers etc but I consider that cheating (also I was too lazy). Thanks to Berty for looking after the car for the day as I had family commitments.

Anyways here's pics of the car

I bought some 5mm slip-on spacers to stop my rim scraping on the trailing arm. Ill try them out this weekend and make sure it doesnt affect my wheel balance or something like that considering i already have to use hub rings.
